for some reason this keeps tolling thru my head when I consider the state of things.

The Second Coming

Turning and turning in the widening gyre

Yeats's first stanza gives me chills.

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;

As the American circle gets larger, those who used to be obedient are no longer.

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

When we (the center of the world - that's not hubris) stumble and fall, the greatest force for good that ever existed outside of The Man from Bethlehem, anarchy will reign for many, many years.

The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;

Is this not already true?How many brides are innocent? Which of our children are allowed their innocence?

The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Is this not our two major political parties? The relative good ones don't stick to their guns out of fear of being called narrow-minded or old-fashioned, while those who have no morals cry loudly about their religion of statism which would enslave all?

The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi

I agree, from here on out, things will go downhill, gathering momentum as it goes. Anything could tip us overthe edge, but also only a MAJOR event could slow or stop it. (Jim Rogers said that on Beck last night)...more and more investors are freaking out.

They claim we are already defaulting because we keep inflating our currency so we pay them less.
