Garden is in and growing. Time to go back to the range for more practice. The search for more ammo begins anew.

I'm going to go throw up now.....
What have we allowed to happen to our country?
I'm going to go buy some more groceries and ammo.....

It is very sad, but like you I do Pray that it can be fixed. I know Religion is a touchy subject, but I will tell you this much...Prayer and my own actions in life have helped me far more then anyone in Washington.
Your right...to many angles to cover and I as well Pray it doesn't come to that.
As a Christian, I too pray that God strengthens our country and restores the greatness that we once enjoyed, but for some reason squandered.
Trying to keep this as mundane as possible, If one were to assume that the Bible offers the blueprint of what's to come of this world, (I do) then it appears to me as if everything is right on schedule. Most Biblical scholars that have studied the book of Daniel and Revelation agree that of all of the kingdoms mentioned in the end world prophecies, there are none that would be construed as being North America or the United States. This leads "me" to believe that we, as a country have become irrelevant by end times. This has been one of the primary reasons that I prep. Regardless of whether Christians hold a Pre-Trib, Mid-Trib, or Post-Trib belief, We as Americans may be in for a very rough ride before the curtain falls. (Biblically speaking)
I fear that we may be just another third world country very soon. Just my opinion and I pray that I'm wrong.

I guess I should clarify. it doenst scare me from a personal fear for my life. it scares me to consider how many innocents would die. normal people just trying to get by and caught in the mess.
it scares me to think that the country I grew up in and served proudly might die an ignoble death, when we do have so much to be proud of as a people.
Regardless of what many think, the world will be a much poorer place with out America. and not in the monetary sense.
and theres a reason so many dictators and theocratic regimes hate us and it has nothing to do with our life styles or politics. we keep them under some sort of control.
with out us and nations who support us, there would be wars every few years. not the little bush fire wars and border skirmishes but full scale roll over borders and take over territory type wars. think about Europe and the world before WWII and how afterwards, even with soviet agitation, major conflicts waned and even died in most areas of the world. there was a reason for that, and it wasnt liberal Feel good vibes.
so if and when this nation collapses, I fear for its people and the consequences of its fall.

almost shocked me. almost.
historically most civil wars and revolutions were started by the educated and financially well off. just something to ponder.
No need to apologize...I know what you meant, it really is sad. People now days are getting so fustrated and it happens to be showing more then ever before and in more of a violent fashion! I too hear the same things you do from all walks of life and it scares me as well! I'm not afraid to admit that.

Heaven forbid one of them get shot in one of these robberies. The ACLU will have a field day defending the poor misunderstood youth who was merely lashing out due to lack of emotional support at home, and getting mixed up with the wrong crowd.

by people from all walks of life, that are totally fed up. Ive always said I prefer we work with in the system till its obvious its broken and will do no good. 618K soliders and half a million Civilians from the civil war should be enough of a lesson to warn people to tread lightly before taking that step.
It seems most people believe the system is broken and unfixable as is, considering the political parasites and power mongers that sit up on the hill pronouncing proudly and arrogantly they are senators and congressman like this places them above every one else, forgetting that those are Public SERVANTS positions. the political equivalent to butlers and maids.
anyway before I begin a long rambling discourse covering ten thousand angles Ill stop. and Pray that this nation doesnt come to that point.

LOTS of thoughts going thru my head about this. (good post Wife!)
Those protests/riots over Memorial Day weren't as bad as they were supposed to get, it's the violent liberals way of trying to make this country have what's going on in other places around the world. They are more of a minority though than we are. IMO Violence is increasing though, yes. As the economy tanks farther, I expect to see much much more of that too.
Many more people than ever before have "had it" with the way things are going in this country. Revolution is crossing more minds than ever. Something has to give.

This past rotation two guys had to go home with an emergency.
The first got a call that his house was broken into. Luckily the guy was scared off by his wife coming home before much was taken.
The second was not so lucky. During the break in his wife was raped.
We work hard for our money. We have long hours and are away from our familys for days at a time. Now we have to worry about this kind of crap happening while we are doing our best to support our family!
As of this morning my wife is the proud owner of a .38 revilver w/ laser sight. Small enough to keep in her purse at all times.
We all have no choice but to defend ourselves..

Hence the addage... Plan for the worst and Hope for the best. The problem is we now spend more time planning for the worst as 'Hope' is not working.

Very good reading for sure. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see this stuff, the government cracks down on the Amish, but they won't crack down on all the crap crossing over the border.
I've said it once and I'll say it again, it will take people in this country saying enough is enough and that's all there is to it. It's no different then the uprisings you see in other countries. It's going to take far more then getting the right person in office, so people have two choices... act or just shut up and except what is happening.
It's as simple as that. It's sad to see that it might have to come to this, but what other choice do we have. Treating others like you want to be treated is no longer recognized in this country for the most part, taking responsibility for your own actions is falling along the roadside, schools want to take control of our children, China along with the rest of the world is laughing at us, no one has the guts to stick together, we elect people on their BS campaign promises knowing they won't keep them anyway, any feeling of American pride is out the door, illegal immigrants have more power then actual citizens, education is nothing but a money making business knowing their sending graduates out into a jobless market, rather then sticking together people are just out for themselves which will only catch up with them in the long run, our military is stretched out way too far, living simple is looked down upon, all our ancestors blood and sweat that built this country is forgotten about, the government is more worried about helping other countries then our own, Mexican drug cartels are operating WITHIN our borders etc...
Divide and conquer...have you heard of this, it's what's happening to us.
Something big needs to happen or we will fall just as Rome did.

18 Signs the Collapse of Society is Accelerating
What are we turning into? The article says we may not like it.
Thursday, June 09, 2011 9:29 AM
As the U.S. economy collapses, the thin veneer of civilization that we all take for granted is going to begin to disappear. In fact, there are already an increasing number of signs that the collapse of society is accelerating. In cities such as Chicago, roving packs of young people are "mob robbing" local businesses, randomly assaulting tourists and shoppers and are even pulling people out of vehicles. This isn't just happening in the "bad areas" anymore. Over the past couple of months this type of crime has been common in some of the wealthiest areas of Chicago. In fact, many Chicago residents are now referring to "the Magnificent Mile" as "the Mug Mile". But it isn't just in Chicago that this is happening. During this past Memorial Day weekend, cities all over the United States experienced a stunning wave of mass violence. We are supposed to be an "example" for the rest of the world, but as our economic wealth crumbles we are witnessing the collapse of society all around us. So what is going to happen when the economy gets even worse?

The "wilding" that went on Memorial Day weekend seems to most alarm the author. Can't say I blame him.Tags: None
