I find those more then just "kinda interesting!" Very glad you shared this, it's said if we don't learn from the past we will repeat it. I think the pictures also show the type of men and women who kept this nation going. They worked their butts off and made the best with what they had.
I don't know about you, but I see determination in their faces

well..yeah....
I wonder how many folks will have the intestinal fortitude to put their nose to the grind stone and work for everything they eat?
The one picture in there of the dinner table....how much of that do you think went in the trash?
Makes you think...Live like you'll die tomorrow, learn like you'll live forever.

My father was a young man during the Depression and after FDR was elected my father went to work for the CCC Civilian Conservation Corps. That was 1 of 2 "make work" programs to get people employed. Of course then WW II came along and everybody worked, sort of.
On the food note I saw a tv show recently on oil and our store bought food travels on average 1500 miles. When we combine that with all the thrown away food I find it very sobering. In general we are spoiled badly in this country.
Thanks for this topic we really need to remind people of the perils of taking things for granted.

#1 We are very spoiled in this country and it starts at birth.
#2 We have one of those CCC Camps that were used about 30 min. from us. Very interesting.
