And yes, absolutely. Killing that SOB is a victory, and it's a total smack down to what Usama indoctrinated and preached with to his minions... that the US is a paper tiger. Under the last administration, we have Mobilized entire armies, completely revamped how gov agencies communicate (share info), creeped closer to the line and okayed enhanced interrogation and off continent detainment, and essentially constructed the local bases and infrastructure that made this recent victory a possibility. Quite contrary to Usama's assessment of us, the US has taken it's gloves off and chased him and his bastards to the four corners of the earth... never stopping until they are detained, defeated, or dead... (que up photo of Bin Laden's brain bucket). Nearly a decade in the making. It's easy to gloss over that fact. The hunt for him took a decade and spanned two presidencies.
Folding up tents now and delcaring a victory... that doesn't sit well with me, and I cringe at how it would sit with the morale of the Taliban and Al Queda. He's one guy, and he'll be replaced. Now I know it won't happen with this administration, but I think we should push deeper. Perhaps pull back in some areas but definitely reach out in others and keep the pressure on these wackos. Give them the death they publically beg for, but do it at a time and place of our choosing... away from our children and monuments.
Just one opinion.
