Just finished Patriots by Rawles. I usually don't get into novels and prefer to read actual history type books. This was the first book of this type I've read and I enjoyed it. I like the way Rawles weaves tips on survival/prepping into the storyline.

I plan to read some more of his stuff.

Just list a few favorites, or what your reading now.. anything that stands out.. how many books do you read at once? I cant read like that.. :) I have to read a book in one sitting.. or at least straight thru, over a day or so. If it does not hold my attention from the get-go, forget it.. I bought my husband this book, In Deadly Combat, A German Soldiers memior from the easterm front.. Ill have to find it for the authors name.. My husband is a real history buff, and so he really thought it was really well written and such.. Thought I may try to read it, to have a conversational piece with him.. we shall see..

I listen to about 1.5 hrs a day with the drive to and from work and driving around during the day.

I keep 3 to 4 audiobooks on my MP3 all the time.

google "free audio books"....most history books are public domain...and free to download.

I also use the public library.....all the current titles.

I rarely listen to music in the car.....it's nice to learn while you drive.

I listen to music while surfing the net....right now Counting Crows....earlier CCR and some QueensRyche.....yesterday it was Suicidal Tendencies and Journey.

Mix it up with a little Holmes, Dr Watson, and Patrick Henry......and you get a pretty well rounded day....:)

"Lucifer's Hammer" is dated, but still a great read. "Ghost Soldiers" is a fantastic account of a little known mission during WWII, highly recommend that one.

I am currently reading the last book in Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series. I am also reading "1776" by David McCullough. I have a ridiculous number of books and would like to some day actually read most of them.
