  • Read any good books lately?

My husband and I both love to read. We like a lot of the same kinds of books, which makes it nice. We get to discuss the book, and share our points of views, disagreements etc..

I have been looking, and I apologize if I just have not found it- but where are the book discussions?

Has anybody read any good books lately, OR books they just didnt care for?

I just read "One Second After".. It wasnt my favorite, but I did get something out of it, as well as enjoied the senerio aspect.. anyone else have an opinion?

I love audio books! I did read the Patriot, and it is one of my favorites. I like reading all the different reviews, such as on Amazon, or even Zombie Squad (the old man likes that forum)... You get a real difference of opinion between Patriots and Lights Out.. Ill check those books out.. always looking for a good book.

We're planning a family vacation to Niagra this year, and my wife set aside a detour to Gettysburg on the way. It was kind of a ploy to get me excited about the trip... I guess it worked. Thought I better read up on the details of the battle before I went.

Ghost Soldiers is the story of a WWII American POW rescue mission in the Philippines. It was the first time a rescue mission of such a large scale had been attempted. It was also the first mission that utilized the newly formed U.S. Rangers. The treatment of the American prisoners was truly abominable.... The book is hard to get through at times.

I've not read "The Fountain Head", but "Atlas Shrugged" is one of my favorites

Have funon your road trip! Sounds fun!! Good to read up before hand.. makes it that much more interesting... Ghost Soldiers, again, sounds like something Mr would like.. He loves reading military books... If you like military books, try the author.. Poole.. he has a bunch of books my husband reads, and loves.. Terrorist Trail.. Militant Tricks.. (Battlefield Ruses of the Islamic Insurgent).. He reads a lot of older Vietnam era books as well.. a little more difficult for me to get into...Although the Billy Waugh books were a little bit easier for me to read.. just couldnt hold my attention to finish..

Ill check out "Atlas Shrugged".. Ive just been trying to expand my reading into more suitable, adult, and educational reads... I was stuck on murder mystery books, and lovey dovey books, like Nicholas Sparks too long. :) Not that there is ANYTHING wrong with that, just time is precious, Id rather get more out of the time I spend reading... Hey, when your home all day with little ones.. stimulating your mind, in positive ways, is key :)

In Feb 2010 I started reading the Wheel of time series. Finished the 13th book in March of this tear. If you love fantasy this is a gotta read. I also read recently one of my antique books about Stanley and Livingston published in 1907. I am also reading a set of uncorrected proofs for the book Future Patriot.
