    [QUOTE=TheUnboundOne;1919]Zombie Axe,

I've seen the first video. I'd want a bullet for myself with "old friends" and a whiny, smarmy, spoiled-ace daughter like that.

    Ditto.....

    Pretty Good line:D

Reminds me of one of my favorite lines is from the TV series "Jeremiah". After killing the bad guy, Kurdy is inspecting the body and asks: "What kind of group has the time and resources to make clean underwear in this day and age?"

Also in the remake of "I Am Legend", Will Smith chews out the chick after she cooks the bacon saying: "It's just... I was saving that bacon! ":D

Those always get a chuckle when I hear them!

I'm not afraid of avian flu, I'm not afraid of morons showing up at my door wanting what I've got, I'm afraid of all those idiots out there who think the government is going to do something about it all.

Just yesterday on my way home from work, and before I even read this thread, I had the thought of Bird Flu, and how you don't hear anything about it anymore. Waking up this morning to see new posts about it piqued my interest.

I'm not saying that I'm psychic by any means, but it's just a little disturbing when a thought crosses my mind out of nowhere, simply to engage in random conversation about it. Kind of the same way you get a song stuck in your head, and later on in the day you hear it on the radio.

We are all the same decaying matter as everything else, but hopefully the select few who are able to live through it will eventually build a better society because of it.

    Zombie Axe,

    :D

Ain't no way I'd raise a daughter like that and ain't no way I'd want stupid, thug, mental vampires like that as friends. I've encountered too many people like that and the life of a recluse would be better if there were no other choice. Fortunately, I know there is always a better choice, like the people on Survivalist Forums like XColony. (At this point, Diesel is saying: "Free Plug! Free Plug!" :) )

The first OPSEC tip I draw from this video would be to exercise discretion in whom you associate with, what you reveal, to whom, and for what reason. Friendships should be between responsible, self-reliant adult equals with some similar values. Knowing that will save you more bullets than anything.

The second OPSEC tip for families is "Mama's, don't let your babies grow up to be sheeple." A child raised to be self-reliant and independent in thought will not be a hinderance to your exercise of Survivalism and Preparedness, but a boon.

The second video, however, was a total bummer. To listen to and view the last video, you would think that it would be futile to prepare for anything at all.

I'm sorry, folks, but Survivalism and Preparedness are not for people who fatalistically think that destruction is inevitable, but for people who think that life is worth living and preserving, who think that man has a choice in his thoughts, actions, and ultimately, his fate.

So the third OPSEC tip I would derive from this is to know that your life is a value in itself, that there is always a choice, and to learn more so that your choices become greater.

The focus on avian flu in both videos is kind of misdirected. Yes, a mutant, highly communicable strain could conceivably be engineered and accidentally or deliberately released. But the fact remains, thousands more people die every year from standard influenza than have ever died from avian flu. Hell, the disease spread by insects and rats have killed more humans than all of the wars put together.

So, the fourth OPSEC tip I would suggest is to focus on what is the most likely threat to survival and deal with it first, while also being receptive and prepared for other likely threats as well. Be careful of highly speculative, imaginary, or totally bogus threats, as these just waste your time and your life's energy.

Then, of course, there's the fifth OPSEC tip: Get or make all the ammo you need...if for no other reason than to get the 15 point buck to fill your freezer with venison and make a great coat. That way, you're prepared for both good times and bad.

And another bird flu one... short and sweet but gets the point across nicely IMHO...
