  • Just a Reminder

Thought this story was a good reminder of what civil unrest looks like. This is a pretty minor case with only 30,000 mostly sane reasonable people. Imagine how this situation would look when 100,000 people haven't had any food, water, or power for a week.

The small city of East Point, Georgia, took steps to prevent chaos from breaking out Thursday, a day after more than 30,000 people unexpectedly turned out to pick up public housing applications.

Ya, that's what I was thinking as well. Not to point any fingers, but with things (economy) the way they are, you'd think the organizers might have decentralized the form handout station from one to several. Always safer when crowd counts are lower. Hind sight I guess. What do I know.

Still, yet another iindicator of 'the times' we live in. Incredible, frightening, revealing. Prep people. Prep.

I just wonder if the crowds would have been as bad if it was a job fair?
