  • China makes snowfall

I thought this was kinda interesting and thought I'd share it with everyone.

Beijing gets first snow after meteorologists seed clouds

BEIJING: Beijingers woke up Sunday morning to a city turned white with snow that came far ahead of the winter. It was only in the later part of the day that one learnt that 186 doses of silver iodide went into persuading the clouds to release snow flakes.

The metrological department said it had started seeding the clouds from 8pm in Saturday to beat down lingering drought in and around Beijing. The department claimed success in producing 16 million tones of snow for the city.

"We wont miss any opportunity of artificial precipitation since Beijing is suffering from the lingering drought," said Zhang Qiang, who is in charge of the Beijing metrological office, said in a statement.

The snow kept falling till mid-afternoon pushing down temperatures to minus 2 Celsius (29 Fahrenheit). Strong winds from the north made aggravated the chill.

The rest of the story is at...

I hear a lot about conspiracy theories and stuff from different people and it's hard right now for me to really be able to sort out what is the truth of so many of them so I really don't try to but because I heard somewhere about Obama's administration going to try to lower the Earth's temperature by putting something in the atmosphere a little while ago, I thought this might be worth thinking about too. I don't have the link that mentions where Obama's administration was thinking about the thing about lowering the Earth's temperature but I guess that can be Googled.

Silver Iodide has been used in the past to stimulate rain or snow. As Wikipedia mentions under the heading of "Rainmaking": "The crystalline structure of AgI is similar to that of ice, allowing it to induce freezing (heterogeneous nucleation) in cloud seeding for the purpose of rainmaking. Approximately 50,000 kg/year are used for this purpose, each seeding experiment consuming 10-50 grams."

If this method is used throughout the world, via the Copenhagen Treaty on Climate Change, then we can see the possibility of a global cooldown, with normal earth temperatures now in a decreasing stage, it could very well bring on another "little ice age" as experienced in 1650, about 1770, and 1850, each separated by intervals of slight warming.

Personal opinion: If we artificially induce a cooling trend, the earth will fight back against us, and cause global catastrophe in food crops, plant health, and fish.
