  • Rawles Gets You Ready

Has anyone dropped the $100+ dollars for this audio course? I'm intrigued but not enough to drop the money. I'd be willing to buy this off anyone who has enjoyed the content already. Likewise, I would be interested in buying it together with a fellow XColony member and sharing. Anyone want to split the cost?

The author, Jim Rawles, is influential in the Survivalist movement and often has excellent ideas.

This sounds like a waste of money. All food storage, shelf life and nutritional info is on the web already. Every family has different needs and budget. Staying clear of junk food and short life span packageing seems like common sense. I'm sure the LDS can fill in any gaps that might lurk on the internet. Take the $100 and buy food with it. If you must have this audio course request this material through your local library.

Yeah I tried the interlibrary loan program without luck. My guess is that it is nothing worth $100 but I was curious if anyone has heard what it contains.

Folks, Here's his Blog, for all who are interested:

The Daily Web Log for Prepared Individuals Living in Uncertain Times

There are, no doubt, some interesting things there, to be sure, but nothing I would pay $100 for, nothing personal against the man.

I'm just wondering what's with the comma in the name "James Wesley, Rawles."

Sir; You and me both. Is that comma a typo or,,,what?
I'm sure this guy has a good heart and the $100 just barely covers his production costs, it might be good for someone that is a complete virgin to food storage but it is not for me.

Agreed the punctuation of his name is odd. I've seen the comma thing from White Supremacists before but reading Mr. Rawles writing I don't think that is the case.

Das, You're right. From what I've seen, Rawles is against racism, which is a good thing to counter all the rotten press that Survivalism gets.

Survivalism knows no color or genetic heritage and the same basic survival needs and the same basic means of fulfilling survival needs are the same for all humans. (Archeologists and anthropologists have even found that the primitive, pre-historic technologies of aboriginal peoples separated by entire oceans are almost completely similar e.g. bows, arrows, spears, axes, knives, clubs, atlatls, etc.)

I'm thinking the comma could be something geneological, or it could be some quirky twist on things that you see among Patriot Movement types. I'll have to look into the matter further.

I have purchased the course awhile back and like has been said... most of the info is available online. The nice thing is that all the info was in one place.

After reading it, I found that I knew most of the tricks of the trade in procurement. However there were some interesting things I had not considered or had forgotten along the way.

I like the EMP proof version ;)
