I am just 10 pages from being done with the road, having just bought it yesterday along with 'One Second After'. Awesomely good book The Road is and will not miss it at the theatres. Also been interested in the movie 2012 for some time now, and must have missed the previous thread on that. Thanks for suggesting these 2 books, as I have been rather captivated by them.

All interesting stuff. BB your right that most are screwed. A few months back I posted a books name 2012 the Apocalyse (or however it is spelled) The book is packed right now so I couldn't remind anyone of the author. But,
it does state Berea KY as a safe spot. Now, how could one know this well it is just a guess from my position. Study the rock under the area and you'll see it is layered 1 to several feet deep. ALL level.. Madison, Rockcastle counties Millions of years of time and events have past and nothing has moved it. Yet go to the TN stateline at Jellico and the mountain is made of rock blasted out and up at a 45 degree angle. It would make a case that something at some time in history happened there and it wasn't pleasant to be a witness to. Anyway just information people. Good book by the way.Waitnc

I will be at the movie theater on Nov 13!! This looks like an AWESOME movie!! And from the director of Independence Day and Day after Tomorrow... it's got to be great. Of course, John Cusack is a favorite of mine too.
2012 is actually what got me started on prepping. Not too sure what I believe about it.. but I see these books and movies as teaching tools for survivalism and prepping."Be Excellent to Each Other"
