  • Blackwater...er Xe

This won't be broadcast in our media however I think it is noteworthy. I had a brief but interesting conversation with a gent I met some years ago. He is a prepper and a member of a group much like our beloved Rancher....sans the obnoxiousness. Their group has exiled a founding member of their organization as he has taken a position with a firm called Xe, formerly known as Blackwater, which was highlighted by the media for their actions in Iraq. He is not returning to Iraq.....he and others are being trained for assignments ....not counterterrorism .... in the US of A.

I googled Xe. From their "about us" page:
As one of the world’s most successful security services corporations, we are a leading provider of creative solutions for the United States government. We have designed and manufactured myriad innovative products; state of the art remotely piloted airships, IED safe armored personnel carriers, and effective training support systems to name a few. Xe operates in nine countries delivering critical assistance to clients focused on post conflict and post disaster stabilization efforts.

If you go to their "contract positions" page, all of the "apply to" email addies are at Blackwater.

    Interesting.

On one of our local radio stations they have a commercial about the secret service wanting applicants for the Charlotte area. I've never heard a recruiting ad on radio like this.

Ive worked alongside those guys. Most of them are good guys, just trying to make a buck. Some of them are real wildcards though. If theyre deployed inside the US, your best bet is to maintain secrecy about your preps, and mind your own business. They'll have no reason to bother you.

These guys are just stiffs like the rest of you......umm......us.....they eat, sh*t, and bleed...if they do "Garden Plot" us, then their only real advantage will be federal support...which won't amount to much in a guerrilla war...

Something Blackwater was never too public about is: Their training is highly focused toward urban combat and support (actually, like MOST private sec. firms) ...they have a pretty weak game, when you look at the big picture and head out of city limits...

I have to agree with the comment by Lightfoot. Sure, be concerned, keep an open eye but keep a low profile, don't cause trouble, don't provoke anything and the chances are, you wouldn't be a threat. Sure sounds good! Hope it's true!:)
