Ugh! What a way to start the day!:(
I got up bright and early and turned on the TV and Obama was being carried live, with his speech to an Egyptian university. I think he was popular enough with his audience to have a successful bid for Egyptian president.
Seriously, it was a wonderful, inspiring speech. I wanted to cheer and vote for the guy (:p)....then I really honed in when he started talking about the freedoms that come with democracy and how every person want certain freedoms. He said these are inalienable human rights....the freedom to have your own thoughts and to talk about them. Even if it means disagreeing with your government. The freedom to worship as you like. ...and a bunch more stuff. I wonder how long it will take for some foriegn press to come out and say "then why is Obama limiting this in his own country".
Once again, he dissed Isreal and mentioned how horrible the plight of the Palestinians was. He made a good case for peace using the Torrah, the Bible and the Koran (passages from) as an example for this. He made a big point about how he understands, due to his background growing up, the "Muslim world".
Gah...I just want to be sick today at all the BS.
