  • Will Obamanomics Destroy The U.S. Economy?

Probably the best article I've seen on the topic, with lots of supporting info.

It explains what we'll see and why, and it puts some of the blame for starting this mess on President Bush. As it should. Most articles I've read put all the blame on one or the other (Bush and BO), this one is balanced.

If it's correct, those who "just started" preparing, can quit worrying AS LONG AS they continue to prepare AS A PRIORITY. It would indicate we possibly have until next summer (a year from now) before the country is bankrupt, which is when TSHTF.

This is a very balanced report. Thank you for posting it Wife. It puts to rest and confirms exactly what I have been reading and thinking about all along. We may only have a few short years left to be ready and I hope people here will read this and pay attention.
We truely need to make this a lifestyle now more than ever.

Re the Carbon Tax which will bankrupt the nation; Yesterday a guy from the USDA comes by and wants to know how much property I own and how much livestock I have, he never stated a clear reason for needing the info. This raised a question in my mind, who will pay the carbon tax on wildlife? The tax payer of course, especially hunters!

I think he's in a hurry because he's worried that either someone will spill the beans on his birth certificate or we'll have time to actually pull on his reins if he's not at full gallop.

I completely agree Wife. This is no kindergarden game he's playing.

No it's not. He wants us on our knees. He wants us broke, hungry and bewildered.

His monetary policies will break us. His farm policy to reward wealthy donors will make us hungry, giving what little money we have left to his pals for our daily bread. He's got some bewildered by his speed and fancy moves, i.e. his habit of saying one thing and consistently doing another.

All I've got to say is, we may be broke when he's done, but we won't be hungry (for a while) and never bewildered, we now know exactly what he's doing.

On another note, I've been worried about what we would do if we indeed had to retire (hastily) to one of our dirt patches. We would have about 14 people to house. I've been reading up on the viking "longhouse". Being mostly underground, they were cool in the summer and warmed more easily in the winter, a real viable option. :D

Yeah, he's gonna rip us off completely. They're taxing everything so much even my health benefits pretty soon. I always claim 0 with my taxes so I get more back at the end of the year and I just changed that to claim 1 because i have a feeling there will be no tax refund next year. I also stopped putting money in to my retirement fund 403b, I was losing more than I was putting in. I cannot touch it even if I didn't care about the fees and penalties, they have it fixed that the only way to getit out is to roll it over into something else or lose my job. Which may happen sooner than later.
I've really been re-thinking my trip to WY and MT lately too. I just don't know what is going to happen and if I'll need that money.

We have been planning a trip to Scotland. We decided to wait at least a year and so how things go. I would hate to have something major happen and be trapped on another continent!

I had some guys at my office who have some large chicken farms and beef on a smaller scale talking about the same last week Keeno. They don't know if they are digging for a new tax base, or just a price / production control to monitor the market. It all reported on the chicken scale because these guys are sposered and supplied by large Corp. They wanted to know if the chickens went anywhere else. My freind said yes " in the $4,000.00 sanitary grave when they die.

I heard that the new credit card laws enacted to "protect the consumer" actually make it worse on those who pay thier bills on time! Oh well, back to a cash economy (ie barter)

You are correct Kenno. Those of us responsible who pay off our CC's every month or keep it manageable will instead subsidize those who do not or care not to. They banks need to come after us to make money somehow. Just goes along with the whole socialism path. The poor folks who act like idiots and are too stupid know any better, we are to take care off. It's not thier fault..........BS

                            Fellow Survivalists,

To give the short answer to the original thread question...You mean Obamanomics hasn't destroyed the economy already?

                            :)

On a more somber note, whenever the Bush Bailout money and the "TARP" Money and the auto bailout money all start circulating through the economy, that is when "interesting times" are going to get even more "interesting." I've got my provisions for months ready and with smaller portions, I could make them last maybe a couple of years.

Already, gasoline has started going back up. It was as low as $1.50 a gallon in my area, but now the lowest gas station I know charges $2.25 a gallon. It will definitely hit higher in the middle of Summer and with price controls and "anti-gouging" legislation firmly in place, gas stations will no doubt once again run out and be the source of sissy-slap-fights among the sheeple.

Fortunately, I always gas up at night to get more gas, use my Wal-Mart gift card to get $.03 off per gallon, and I always keep my tank at least half full, no matter what the price of gas is.

I have recently started paring off unneccessary weight in the back of my truck and I am making my BOB and tool box much more compact and Spartan, so that I can accommodate moving my own possessions and maybe moving for others for hire. When I get out into the country, I'll definitely keep cans of gas with Sta-Bil in them to increase the gasoline shelf-life.

I believe so, as does the author of the article/headline.

That's the point the article makes, as well. It explains the mechanisms at play. I read/spelunk a LOT, it gives one of the best descriptions of whats going on, in everyday language, that I've seen.
