  • The Left Behind books

I've been reading these books for about a year now, the authors are Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins. It's a series about Armageddon. Now, these are Christian authors, and this is based on biblical prophecy, not my usual book pick- I prefer Stephen King or Robin Cook. But it is VERY good reading.

A little alarming too- the main 'villian' is a relatively unknown politician, and next thing you know, he's ruling the world. :p

Like I said, I started these books about a year ago (I'm up to number 12 or so...), left them for a few months, and started reading them again recently. And there are lots of parallels to current events.

If anyone is looking for a good series of books to read, I'd recommend these.

I was actually considering posting links to the movies in the movie section? Can do if you want?

I've read all of them...got hooked...read more books in six months than I have in six years! That was a couple of years back. Not sure if they have the next volume out now.
The movies didn't do it justice.

I didn't know there were movies! I'll probably pass, I'm enjoying the books too much, and I know the movies can't live up to it (though I am anxiously awaiting the DVD of Twilight - I heard the movie was as good as the book).

Yeah my Daughter has read all of the twilight series books at least 3 times including one of miss Meyer's unfinished drafts. Will probably be taking her to Wally World tonight to get the DVD. I'm glad she is so much into reading; she even likes to write her own stories. She really has a flair for it. Love our trips to Barnes and Noble. If you want to see if your money will be well spent on the movie:

OK yall!!! Following the leader here. I went and got Twilight to see what it was all about before knowing anything about it. Thinking it was along the lines of Left Behind. Mistake, but not a bad one. Great because the smile I got at the end from the GF telling me she flet that way when she met me! Ok back to Left Behind. I want to go back and re-read the whole series before watching the movies.

sorry, SandsHills, definitely NOT like the Left Behind. Twilight is about vampires. I was just saying that most movies cannot live up to the books; but I heard Twilight does, and I think the first 2 Harry Potter movies did also.

that's so sweet about the GF!

                      Xolar,

What's the Babylon series? Can you give more info?
I've Read Alas Babylon which is an Armageddon type book (pretty good by the way) but I don;t think it has anything to do with what you;re talking about.
I'd be interested in any details you have.
                      ~ Awesome ~
