  • New Ammo Restrictions?

I just got this today. I have not been able to verify it yet. The states show it up for vote last year, but then some show it still pending.

    Ammunition Accountability Legislation
    It has already started...

    Ammunition Accountability Legislation

Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo!

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana ) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers.

Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded....

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so=20 every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more!

If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!

This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington.

Send to your friends in these states AND fight to dissolve this BILL!!

To find more about the anti-gun group that is sponsoring this legislation and the specific legislation for each state, go to:

Thanks for the feed back. My mother sent me the link. Who knows whats going on? NRA called me on the 485 BILL (I think that's right). Which we had here a week or two ago. Then I read W40C post about destroying all used brass! Jeepers, Some say the run on 223 and 308 and all clip fed rifles is because the Drug Lords in Mexico are building there own army to fend off the feds. After cliping your link.. CRAP! The country is going down the shitter and someone wants to make a buck on it. PF

I have mixed feelings about that... I think someone trying to make a buck on the situation is kinda what makes capitalism great.

On the other hand, it is up to us to stand up and make sure this doesn't stand.

Different proposed law, Blair Holt Act is about licensing guns and is proposed at the federal level.
Ammo accountability is being proposed at the state level.

Hey CW HR 45 was for pathfinder who was looking for bill 485. He had the wrong number so I was supplying the info for him to look into the Blair Holt Act. I was aware of the ammo accountabillity and supplied a link for peeps to look at about it as well.

Sorry, I suppose that is why I should slow down a bit and we should all use the quotes when answering questions, for people like me that can't figure it out.

No worries fellows.. Here? It can not all happen 10 seconds or 30 minutes at a time. Nothing wrong with taking a deep breath. We all must throw the new info out there and wait for us all to "search and discover". No worries. I just got in, and I think that we have a sapp in the wire. "Troop" something. READ the new notes from our moderators. PF

Unless you live in one of the 18 states that are considering this bill that is being propmoted by that company I mentioned in an earlier post in this thread you don't need to worry right now. The ammunition makers cannot afford to retool their factories so they won't. They just won't whip ammunition to the states that require the stamping. That will force the citizens of said states to go across borders and then bring back ammunition that will then be ILLEGAL is thier state. Unless the Federal Governemnt gets involved every state will not do this. Not even most states will institute this law.

Also once the staets that enact it find their revenues lessened while their neighbors take in more from the sales of ammunition many of the states that enacted it will repeal it due to purely fiscal reasons.

\ Wrong!!!! We all need to worry, first one state then the next, first this type firearm then the next, they will chip away at it until we have nothing left. The old saying "give em an inch and they will take a mile" has never been truer than now!
Call your representatives! tell them what you believe! Tell them we will vote their asses out of office if they mess with our rights!!!
