Guns traded for roses in South Carolina

INHABITANTS of a South Carolina county who were invited to trade guns for roses on Valentine's Day turned in 191 handguns and rifles, a spokesman for the county sheriff's office said.
The sheriff's office gave out roses and a gift card for a rifle or roses and two gift cards for a handgun, he said.

"We recovered 191 weapons and issued 328, 50 dollars Best Buy gift cards," said Lieutenant Chris Cowan, a sheriff's spokesman.

"We recovered handguns, rifles and shotguns. We had a mix of people from young and old, males and females, to all races come to the event. We had people waiting in line before we even started," he said.

"We had some brand new guns and some were old, but every single one was still functional and they will all be ballistically tested by our forensic analysts," he said

No amnesties were offered, and people turning in weapons had to give their names, he said, calling the Saturday swap a "good event" that raised awareness about gun violence.

I really hated to hear that folks here in SC would fall for such a scam. How 'bout somebody just shoot in here amongst us and give some of us some relief!
JUST CURIOUS? PRUNES ARE DEHYDRATED PLUMS. SO WHERE DOES PRUNE JUICE COME FROM?

One question. What will a $50 best buy gift card get you, that can save your life in the event your attacked? Maybe you can give them the rose and they'll just walk away:eek: lol.
Sometimes I wonder if I could live my entire life being the neutral, all observant being. The gray man. We’ll see.

Grrrrrr! What the Flippity flinger flunk? Let's see, I paid over $400 for my glock, $60 for two clips, $50 for a holster, and whatever for the ammo it uses. There's NO WAY I'd be willing to just hand it over for a gob of dead flowers and a gift card to a store.

All these people need to be beat in the face with a shovel.

Visine, you paid 60 for two mags? How high cap were they? I am asking because I carry the Glock 23, and two 13 round mags cost me 20 bucks together... Granted here you can not find a glock anywhere for 400 so I guess it evens out haha.

No way in hell could someone offer me roses for ANY of my firearms.... wow

:D I think this is a GREAT idea! Matter of fact, I want to setup something similar in my front yard! I could get some great bargains this way. What do ya'll think? Hmmm..

Seriously, why would ANYONE trade a gun for flowers or a gift card?

                Yeah, roughly $29 each. It's a Glock 21, that's why.
