    Pissed!!!

    Most of you folks probably already knew this but I just found out today. The following is from an article in the Washington Post. I plan to do some more research on it.

    "Popular acceptance of hard-core pornography has come a long way, with some of its stars becoming mainstream celebrities and their products -- once confined to seedy shops and theaters -- being "purveyed" by upscale hotels and most home cable and satellite television systems. Explicit sexual entertainment is a profit center for companies including General Motors Corp. and Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. (the two major owners of DirecTV), Time Warner Inc. and the Sheraton, Hilton, Marriott and Hyatt hotel chains."


    You mean to tell me that some of the folks that we are bailing out are invested in the porn industry. Am I that naive or am I just that stupid?

    Now I understand why Larry Flynn is asking for bail out cash. Who can blame him? Just put me in a rubber room with some MREs and diapers. The country has gone bloody mad!!

    Why not buy stock in the crack industry, or the terrorist industry? :confused:
    Or how about the sex slave industry:confused:, or the wife beating industry:confused:, or maybe the pedophile industry:confused:, hey, I know, lets bail out all the Mexican drug cartels, surely they need some help:confused: and there is bound to be someone in congress that has an interest there. Please! Someone stop me!! Maybe we could help out with the KKK, The Arien Brotherhood, or some other white supremist groups:confused:, let's not forget the Bloods, Crips, and MS-13, I'm sure they could use about $2.5 bill:confused: Whoops, I almost forgot about Al-Quaida, now they need a stimulus package to help them finish what they started, what da ya think?....$4...$5 billion:confused: They wouldn't need to high-jack a plane, they could just buy the nukes they needed from Russia and be done with us:confused:

      Porn keeps the masses entertained. Long ago the Romans took public money and built great public works. Most of them involved keeping the masses fat and happy, such as the Collesium, and the Hippodrome. They had state owned and operated brothels, and paid the unemployed money to not work. They regulated the entertainment industry very heavily.

      Now, something to ponder. State run lotteries, tax payer money for sports arenas, and welfare. We regulate television broadcasts.

      The answer? Shut off the TV, quit keeping up on sports, NEVER buy a lottery ticket, and get a job.

        I'm with ya. Its just ridiculous the way our society has gotten. This whole bailout deal is a crock. Why should the taxpayers bail out huge for profit corporations? Why should taxpayers PAY to build a sports arena where it costs them out the ass? Why would the average Arlington Texas citizen allow their leaders to use their tax money to build a stadium that most of them can't even afford to buy a ticket and go to a game?

        Isnt there TONS of other worthwhile uses for our tax dollars? Last time I checked, I pay out the ass in income tax every year (more than most because I'm not married) and what do I get to show for it? So we pay sales tax on the goods we buy, we pay income tax on the hard earned money we make, we pay city and county taxes on our land, we pay school taxes, hospital district taxes, emergency services district taxes. EVERYWHERE you look, and EVERYTHING you do is taxed to a disgusting amount.

        I'd be much happier knowing that our tax money is going to good use here in the USA. I know our country has certain obligations, but it's well past the point saying enough is enough! We is our country paying more than double the amount of economic aid then ANY other Country in the WORLD? Why? Why is the US still paying Japan because we nuked Hiroshima and Nagisaki? They jumped us into the war by attacking Pearl Harbor without provocation.

        I can understand and appreciate the complexity of keeping the world running, but why can't more people / countries be responsible for themselves? I know I got off on a tangant, and I apologize, but I just don't see it...

          I'd say be cautious how you intrepret this story.
          DirecTV probably isn't invested in porn, per se...but I'm fairly certain they carry the programming and make money everytime someone gets porn as a pay-per-view. Same with the listed hotel chains....

                We've elected these fools to run the country,and manage it,Plus they have passed a law we cant fire them,if they leave office they get full benifits anyway,,,I agree with the others-Be prepared peeps this aint gonna get better,,,,,,,,,,Txrebel

                  Heheh....I didn't elect these morons....it just happens that the entitlement addicts who get their young'ns supported by the producers among us have finally out-bred us sane folks, and have tipped the scales away from us...

                  We'll never be able to vote our way out of this now....too many idiots at the polls, and they keep breeding more of them every day.....I whole-heartedly believe that a split will be the only way to resolve it......but that'll be a hard fight and God only knows if there's enough left of us to make it happen....

                    Porn financing everything you see. SEX sells. as for the narcotics industry I would guess the government profits very highly from its illegal sales. Too many things that dont concern America have American's money and soldiers. I say everybody that owes the good ole USA should pay up in full and take a long walk off a short pier. Close the borders to immigrants until every undocumented person is shot if resisisting or sent floating back to where they came from. Then fortify the borders and America would be a great place again.

                        get rid of every politician that has ever said anything about negative gun rights and allowing the undocumented workers stay. Hell fire everyone and get whole new government.

                            When I was in school we started the day with a prayer to God, and a pledge to the United States of America, in English. We were told that when Rome fell it was for the EXACT SAME REASONS and things that are happening in America right now, and that if we didn’t learn from that it would happen here. When the prayer in school ended ... it was the start of what I was taught, and it’s happening as said.

                            I bet that there were a few good Romans left in Rome too, and that they did NOT WANT the BREAD AND CIRCUSES that were keeping the masses so entertained with free entertainment, wine, and food that they did not see the walls of civilization crumbling down around them. But, there was nothing that the good Romans could do about it, and neither can we at this point, as far as I can see. The fire has so engulfed the house that all you can do is save what you can then spray water on it and hope for the best.

                            Think that I'm wrong and pessimistic? Give me a solution that will actually work, or even make a dent! Well? I vote, teach my kids the right things, do what I can, and have for years, and we’ve gone down hill. I wish I could see the recorded accounts of the Centurions that seen the end coming and did what they were told even though they said to themselves. “Cesar wants me to do what?”

                            The really scary part? The whacko muslim militants agree with what is being said here. They hate decadent America for the very same reasons pointed out. They just go overboard to not let it, stop it from happening where they are.

                            200 years ago 1/3 wanted to stay with the Crown, 1/3 couldn’t give a Rats Ass, and 1/3 wanted to be Free from the British. With the (Ahem) French help we became free. This time there is no one to come to our aid on the high seas and coasts, but there are more of us now, and we still can’t do anything about changing what is happening before our very eyes. If anyone has a solution, that makes sense, I’m all ears!
