Hello, I am 51 years of age and have lived along the Gulf coast my whole life. I grew up with extra food for hurricanes or power outages. I have always had more food than most in my pantry but now I have started to look at the long term range of food. I am in culinary and have a garden and started to stock some organic seeds. I was along the gulf coast when Katrina hit and I can tell you that my family had it pretty easy and I live on the water. We had a generater, food, Ice, gas. all because we had planned for the situation. Since then I had started looking at other situations that might happen and have made adjustments, so no matter what, we will have food, heat, water, security and I don't have to stress about it. Always looking at better ways to store food or get power from other sources. I'm looking into Solar and wind but its so expensive. Glad to have found your website.
