  • Craigslist hook from Maine.

Hello every one. I am new to this forum and I live in southern maine. I have been self reliant from a young age being raised by a grandfather who was an old school guide, outdoorsman and sea captain. He drilled into me the only person you can't count on when TSHF is yourself. You should no matter were you are, take inventory of were you can shelter and supply also what tools or weapons are at hand and what your E&E route choices are and what would be your fall back position. I am working on relying on the grid as little as possible by growing my own food and raising my own live stock. It use to be called farming;). I am aslo an avid outdoorsman ( hunter, tracker, trapper and fisherman. I have broad woodland and coastal survival skills and if has wheels or tracks I can fix or opperate it.

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to
beat you to death with it because it is empty.

The faster you finish the fight, the less shot you will get.

Hey Big Saw I started tinkering with blacksmithing back in high school. I have taken formal classes & courses in different types of blacksmithing so about 20 yrs off and now on. My shop is on my property, I built it my self out of ruff sawn hemlock lumber 16"X 28" 2 story 10" ceilings. I run both coal and propane forges. I make reproduction tools and hardware and some knives and hawks but most of my blacksmith income comes from restoration and repair work or sculptures. If it is made of metal I have the tools to make or fix it like welders, A/O, plasma cutter and on and on. It is not to bad doing some thing you love. The shop has been taken over by a romanian diesel farm tractor and loader I am rebuilding.

That's awesome...better keep it hush-hush, or you're liable to be flooded with requests....in case you haven't heard, we're all a bunch of knife fiends here. ;)

Welcome Omegaman, and yes, I want a homemade knife. You choose and I am not fussy. Just something in a 10 inch blade made of indestructable steel, but again, your choice.:)
