Hello everyone. I live in a remote area in the mountains of SC. I have always found much pleasure in working toward being prepared for whatever might happen. I can hardly wait for winter storms that isolate me from the rest of the area. Great time to test your plans & equipment. The worse the storms the better as far as I am concerned. I'll do fine as long as I can stay put here. Not prepared to "wander".....yet. This site is my first step toward that new goal.

Yeah I know what you mean about getting snowed in for a spell. Kinda like that song, "Make the world go away" by,iirc, Jim Reeves :)

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to
beat you to death with it because it is empty.

It is a small world. I'm sure he knows 'em well. I'll ask later tonight when I see him. He crashed on his bed this afternoon and hasn't come back down.

Its snowing at the beach today!!! That hasnt happened in about 20 years, I think. Wish I'd get snowed in up on the mountain this weekend, but I think its gonna clear up and be pretty. Just my luck. :p

I love upstate SC, the wife and I hiked a 16 mile portion of the foothills trail outside of Pikens, we camped at the top of a waterfall, and then went to a peak that overlooked as far as the eye could see. Here is a pic of the overlook.

That looks like the view from Jumping Off Rock or at least pretty close. It is a great place to call home. Very remote...very friendly...
