Howdy, Freedom Defender! Are you also on the Backwoods Home Magazine Forum as Danger Kitty? DK has a similar, but animated avatar. Either way, welcome to XColony!

    :)

Just like that high dollar free range meat they sell on the internet for $25.00 a pound. What is amazing is the locals, with a few exceptions, consider them vermin and coyote bait and would sooner eat an armadillo. It is no surprise, few people are capable of getting out of the box and realizing what nature has to offer. I am a former helicopter gunship pilot circa 69-70 and have hunted the ultimate game. At 58 my basic goal in life is the harmony and well being of my family and friends and know the difference between an acquaintance and friend. I have a lot of acquaintances. Hurricane Ike helped me move forward with survival views. While sitting on patio with glass of good cheap whiskey and trying to figure where to store plywood I took off windows, I started sketching and by the end of weekend it was small efficient smoking cabinet that will cold smoke 100 lbs. sausage at a time. Moved forward from sausage to curing my own ham and bacon. Will never eat store bought again. Planted 1/4 acre plot of turnips for deer, nothing bothered it so I have years supply of greens in freezer. If anyone is interested in recipes, methods, or techniques, I will be more than happy to share. The most rewarding is being able to open eyes of young grandchildren and others to the world outside the supermarket designed for the masses.
    Welcome aboard, Maddog.
