  • Hello from England

Hi there. I had a wander round the forum here and I must say,,, I like it. It is really helpful and I think I may learn a lot from you friendly and helpful people. Also after a while I think I may even be brave enough to post here myself. Any way,,, don't be afraid to say hi.

          Hello, and welcome from NC.

I never really thought about prepping or survival from the UK perspective. What situations, or possible scenarios do you find yourself concerned with?

          Just curious.

lol, problems,,,,well at the moment the government are looking to cause a nation wide riot if they keep going the way they are.

we have major problems with flooding.

Within 20 miles of where I am there have been 3 MAJOR race riots in 10 years.

London had the underground bombings and Manchester, which is 9 miles from my home, had a terrorist bomb go off that was so big it shook the paintings off my wall!

Last year we had so much snow it brought the whole country to a stand still. with shops running out of everything from motor oil to baby food.

I think it's because our problems all last under 30 days (ish) that they don't seem big. It was the snow problems last year that made me see the light. In less that 6 hours we had so much snow the councils all ran out of salt for the roads, the shops ran dry and all the roads were closed. lots of people couldn't get to work and I found it hard to get through the 2 weeks while things got back on firm footing and I decided that I wouldn't get in that state again. most of my prep has been training my mind and muscles as these are the things that I'll always have with me and I am now looking to buy dry goods and gear to fill out the gaps. I'm starting small but by the time I'm done i want to be covered for everything, I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it,,,or put more simply,,,next time I'll be prepared!

wow that seemed an extreme waffle so I'm sorry if it makes li'll sense. 0150 hrs here and I'm a lill tired lol

That's a good question...I couldn't help but wonder that myself.

Almost everyone questioned simply said,,,,"free bank holiday!" (public holiday). Not many people care about the royals any more. they are simply looked on as a tourist trap lol. as for the cash spent there was uproar! people skitzed because not only did they spend millions on the wedding there were millions spent on security. with the financial problems we have atm there are better things to have spent MULTI-millions of PUBLIC money on, the sad thing is the public payed for it because they couldn't afford it them selfs.
