When our son was in the Marines, he and SkyOwl, who was still in the Army, would go at it over which service was best. We had fun with that for years until SkyOwl retired. And then we just made fun of Marines. :rolleyes:

He always said that the sailors were "squids", a lower form of Marine life. Now, all of my uncles were in the Navy, so I searched for something with which to return fire for a bit until I found out ;) that "Marine" is really an acronym which stands for My Ass Rides In Navy Equipment.

He'd never heard that and after nearly laughing his arse off, he just said, "Ya got me there!"

Anyway, welcome swabbie, we appreciate you!
