New to the thread. I got pulled off of another thread onto this one.

Just bought a farm, and left the city, and I'm in the middle of retrofiting the current home on the 20 acres to be a homestead that will function with or without "the grid".

A few pics of my BIV *bug in vehicle* and new homestead.

Fruit trees on the new land:

    Field at the new home:

    Creek at the new property:

    Front yard:

The house has a bomb shelter built into the basement, and is pretty large, so I'm happy about that. I will be getting a tractor, digging a pond, building a shed, etc etc

Looking forward to talking with you guys.

Welcome to the site, beautiful farm you have there thanks for stopping by

That's a substantial creek btw, you should be able to pull alot of resources from it, have you looked into hydroelectric?

My friend, that's not a creek. It's a raging river compared to what we have here in SE Arizona. We have a river in the bottom of the valley called the San Pedro River. It measures 4-6 feet wide and about 6-8 inches deep.

Welcome bcauz3y from those of us in SE Arizona.

              Thanks!!!

I'm really loving the creek. The kids and the dogs love swimming in it, and the water is good and clean.

So, plenty of water, plenty of acreage, how's the game?

He was, he always lusts for things to shoot and eat. He infected our youngest with that, she shot 3 squirrels a couple of weeks ago and put them into her slow cooker.

Awesome! My 9 year old son gets $5 for every squirrel he gets, and we eat them as well.

Had two big wild turkeys in the field when I got home today. I wanted to shoot one soooooo bad because I just bought a new turkey fryer.
