  • Hi from NY

Hello from NY, I started prepping about 25 yrs ago, do to never wanting to go hungry again (low point in life)! But back then I was called a "food hoarder" "Nuts" "Crazy", so I kept it quit for years! Then about 10 yrs ago we had a bad snow storm and wiped out the power for almost 2 days. We had to live in the attached garage for that time, because the house we just bought has a wood furnace.( Told hubby it would save us money when we were looking at it), all said and done Hubby said he would not go through that again! and went out and got a generator, I said I was going to have some non perishables on hand, "just in case" and slowly got my New Hubby some what into prepping. And thats how I got into prepping.

Greetings from maine. The lack of power is a good test, last year we lost power for 12 days and that hardly caused a bump in the road for my family. I makes you feel good knowing that you have food and supplies to get you through any event big or small.

Don't worry about being from NY. It's the mindset that counts, not where you are. Welcome from the desert of SE Arizona.
