Greetings to one and all. I've been reading many of the posts and I find like minded folks here. Hoping for the best, planning for the worst. Willing to share information and encouragement for those wanting to stand on their own two feet, but just needing a little direction. After all that's what Americans do!
As for me I'm 64, we have a small ranch here in Tornado Alley. Married 40 years all the children are grown and gone, just us and the Chickens now...

    We have BIG Chickens.... :D
Enough supplies for 3 years, just in case. ;)

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to
beat you to death with it because it is empty.

The faster you finish the fight, the less shot you will get.

        Thank you.
Yes we do....... this year we had 67 Tornadoes. One got a little close back in the spring. A neighbor 1/4 mile away lost his front porch and barn. We lost a few shingles. But it keeps the yuppies away. LOL

Tip....... Dig into the east side of a hill use lots of concrete and cover it with lots of dirt. An air vent and a heavy door with locking pins sorta like a bank vault. Stock it well, it may be your new home for a while.
When one comes you will be having a chat with Jesus. Your greatest fear is for the safety of your family.

I have seen the destruction of Tornadoes and Hurricanes up close, if the tears do not fall from your eyes they will surely fall from your heart.

Howdy, RDR. I've always appreciated the down-to-Earth, matter-of-fact style of many Mid-Westerners and I see you have it down to a science as well. Welcome, and feel free to share some more insights.

              :)

Thank you for the welcome. I see you're in NC. Our youngest Son is transferring to Shaw AFB in SC next month. He's career Air Force. Did his tour in Afghanistan, came back a few months ago, should be E7 soon. He and his wife have 4 girls 6-11 and I do believe all four are on the watch list. :D
We haven't seen him in over 2 years, but in 12 days they will all be here for Christmas. There will be lots of food, with hugging and kissing going on :) and some hunting and fishing for 2 weeks. If it's not too cold we'll take the team with a wagon and go camping down by the lake one night sitting around a big fire with them. The girls all want a horse of course but they're not here enough to really enjoy them and the other duties of having horses. :)

LOL LOL :D Well Rusty, their names are Laurel & Hardy. And many years ago after a little Knife work, they have a higher pitch in their voices as they say. LOL :) They are good listeners. They put up with me and my nonsense and I don't work them hard. That's my wife driving them in the picture.
It is my pleasure to meet all of you. I enjoy light hearted humor with good folks and like minded goals.

Holy Moly...thats my ex wife and her momma's name too. And it took a knife to make their voices lower into the female range too. Are you sure they are not on your farm? Wait...good listeners? Nope. I must have mistaken. But the resembalance is remarkable.
