  • Hello from Nashville, TN!

    Hello All!
I am a stay at home mother currently . Have a wonderful husband and darling son. We have started feeling the need for preparing for anything that might hit us. I am a natural born organizer and researcher, so I am on the road to learn all I can before the option to learn is no longer available. I look forward to learning from you and hopefully becoming an expert in survival preparation soon!

Hello and welcome - I am about an hour south of Nashville. I've seen that meetup, but my boys are in football and have Sat. games, but just as soon as our schedule clears out a little I would really love to go to one!!

                    Warm Welcome

                    Wow!
I have been a little busy this week and come back to lots of activity on this thread. First, thanks for the very warm welcome everyone!
mabear- we would love to have you come join the group. Fielder is the organizer and is very appreciative of women learning wilderness survival skills. Plus, right now it is only my sis and I. We would truly welcome another lady to the mix.
Skyowl's wife- Got it on the nose!!! VERY few people get that reference. It is nice to meet another pern fan! Where are you located at? Tennessee is very beautiful, especiall in the fall. I was born in NEw York and Raised in California, so I truly appreciate the natural beauty of the state and the people.

I haven't seen anything scheduled, are they taking a break for the holiday's? This is the Provident Living & Self Reliant group, or is there another group? Our last football game was just last weekend, so I'm ready!! lol. Where in Cali did you grow up? I grew up in San Diego, Bay Area, and Marysville/Yuba City.......the quality of life is much better here in TN!!!

So sorry, I got my groups mixed up. I thought you were talking about the Track and Bush meetup group, which Fielder is the organizer of. If you would like to join that group, just look it up at meetup.com. The provident living one just had a seminar on surviving flood disasters and other disasters of the same ilk. They had a guest speaker that survived the last nashville flood. It was scheduled about 2 weeks ago (?). Unfortunately, I could not make it. They usually schedule something about every 2-3 months. Although, with the holidays, I would say we will not see anything again until next year. That is just my guess.

I grew up in Huntington Beach, CA. I have great memories of my childhood there, but I recently went back to visit family and realized I would hate it as an adult. Tennessee is just so much more beautiful, the people are so warm and real, the political views are much more in line with mine as well. So, I guess I am Tennesseeized now. LOL! So, I would have to say I agree with you that life is better in TN!!!! :)

Oh, okay. I saw that one too, both sounded good. I'd just love to meet some rl preppers! I got all excited the other day when a rl friend mentioned the Patriots book, but then was disappointed to hear only her husband had read it and she didn't even intend on reading it:( I'll have to look up the next get together for Track & Bush group.

I like to visit Cali for about 5-7 days max, then I'm more than ready to come home:)
