It has been my finding that as a young parent (years back) you don't want to let go of your younger lifestyle. As you said, having a kid changes your life. Looking back I kow if I had had a bit of wisdom I think the best for me would have been "It is no longer about you". Everything you do is for her. Once you remove yourself from the "Me" aspect in you thinking you find yourself free from having to split your resources whether it be money or time etc. You are doing the right thing.

It's not always that easy to be a stay at home dad. I love my daughter, and I know she is learning the right things, and I worry less about her being around perverts. When we looked at things, my job didn't have insurance but the wife did. For me to put an infant in daycare, and my cost to drive to work, I would be making next to nothing at the end of the month after paying the daycare bill, gas, etc.

We decided it best to stay at home and I teach her the best I can. I have been blessed and she is a very smart little girl (don't all us daddy's say that about our kids?).

Having a child changes your life too.. Now I have to weigh my decisions, my actions no longer just affect myself, I have to think of my family. Keeps me out of trouble too. I'm a very defensive father. Just wait till she gets to dating years.. I'll be handing out t-shirts with targets on their backs to her boyfriends.

    Greetings from Southern Ohio

I'm originally from Chicago but transplanted to Southern Ohio, own a small chunk of land that I can still shoot on. 39 years old male, I'm married, and I have a daughter. I'm currently a stay at home dad.

I'm also a 03 C&R FFL holder, a collector of older military firearms. I'm into computers, electronics, offroading and the outdoors.

I have my CCW, and my carry weapon of choice is a revolver in 357mag.

Never can have enough firearms, just be sure to have enough on hand to feed 'em.
