Greetings from the shores of Lake Michigan

Greetings from a MAJOR city on the shores of Lake Michigan. You know, the place with the tall buildings run by a small guy called "Dickie" who has delusions of gran...(well let's just say delusions).

Spent 35 years working for polce dept. (33 years in the tactical arena). Retired now and find my major accomplishment is waking up every morning, which aggravates the wife and the pension board. The years have taken their toll and I consider myself slow speed, high drag. Married to the same wonderful woman for those 35 yrs. We (mostly she) raised 1 son & 1 daughter, who have both flown the coop and are now raising their own crews.

Interest/hobbies include firearms, 4 wheel drive & off roading, spinning wrenches on classic (old) trucks, and camping fishing etc.

Can't stand politicians, however I have undying admiration for those elected officials who understand they are here to serve the people (these are an extinct breed in this neck of the woods).

Came here to learn and share and help out when/where I can.

That's def a heft career and experience you have under your belt! While many of us here have tactical expertise yours will definately be a welcoem addition and a different perspective! LMAO of high drag! :) And having a wife of 35 years is a hell of an accomplishment, how have you accomplished this? Hahaha

Thanks for the welcome. My career motto was always that it beat working for a living! Imagine, 35 years on the govt. dole.

As for 35 years of marriage, it was easy. I worked all the time and only say two words to my wife "YES DEAR." Seriously, she is a marvelous woman who, for unknown reasons, put up with my [email protected] and did a fantastic job of raising our two kids basically by herself. I showed up when I could.

I'll gladly help when and where I can, but I'm opinionated and don't consider myself expert on anything. (And I'm not very tacti-cool).
