  • Introduction: Lori Valone, author of Building Food Security

    Hello Forum!

My name is Lori Valone and I am the author of Building Food Security: Canning, Dehydrating, and Freeze Drying.

Building Food Security came about as a result of a course I had been teaching at a popular preparedness conference near me. In the first section – Food Security 101 – a series of worksheets enable readers to set food storage goals designed to help them work toward food security for their family. Sections dedicated to canning, dehydrating and freeze drying provide food preservation alternatives readers can put to use immediately to begin meeting the food storage goals they have established. An overview of tools and techniques is provided for each of the three food preservation methods, along with recipes for food storage staples and a step-by-step reference.

Building Food Security is available on my website (http://buildingfoodsecurity.com) or on Amazon.

Most people have already done that.

Many have moved away from those would need a book to start prepping.

The answer to why is simple The people you teach will attack those who are prepared that will include you..

New to the forum - so in the absence of knowing how to properly post and introduce myself I'll do it here and hopefully catch on to it sooner than later. All the topics I've viewed so far are very relevant for the troubling times we live in.

Most assuredly, we live in troubling times.

Judging by your screen alias Nebraska farmer, you will be in a better than position than most.

The European Union gave the green Light for 2 insect species for human food.
            No, I am not joking:

The meal worm cakes we feed the birds are fit for human food. Ugh, I'll eat wild game and fish before I eat what I feed to the birds.
