If you want cheap/free water storage try soda bottles they are made to handle and hold pressure without leaking.
Good tip ML about the soda bottles.
And welcome to the group, kaya_kismet. You are right about it being a tuff place to work (and live), both economically and environmentally.

Hiya! Lived in Phoenix for a couple of years myself. I found it really tough to be sustainably self-sufficient. THat's hard land to work, and there are only so many recipes for cacti. :-) If you ever come to the East Side, we can compare notes! I think water storage is tough there too, as the heat makes plastic seepage happen faster. Gotta replace the H2O every 6 months instead of every year.

    Bye!

    Hi from Phoenix!

Just getting a bit more interested in all things survival.
Making plans for "bugging out" if the time should come.
Trying to keep aware of the threats that may cause that scenario whether by terrorists, economics, natural disaster (like Katrina) or political. (don't get me started)
Trying to look into food & water storage.
And then ofcourse, the guns & ammo to protect the family from the crazed idiots that didn't plan. Only have 3 hand guns and one is a collector piece never fired.

    Known elsewhere as Funner Hummer
Working...
