Many folks may not know, but our moderator is paying for this site out of his pocket. He has started a pay service here to help him defer the bills of keeping this site up and running. I will pony up the dough once I have some free capital, trust me I could spend all day on this site, I already have enough trouble finding time just to read and respond to the threads I want to!
Unfortunately I had to tap into savings last month to pay contractors in cash to help my parents out when their neighborhood was crippled by a huge ice storm...no power for 2 weeks, trees uprooted and whatnot, it was a terrible scene, my folks relocated to Virginia to stay with relatives so I had to do all that I could...
But yes, I will contribute as soon as I feasibly can, and I hope others will as well!Comment

I smoked for 20 years and quit cold in 1988. I enjoyed every cigarette I smoked. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't crave another. Good luck.

I'm considering monetary support of this site, although I have been reading for the most part. Lots of good information here.
But I have questions before I commit.
Does the owner of the site collect any funds from advertisers, and does he/she sell any information about members of this site?
I'm a bit picky about which sites I support monetarily.
I'm not suggesting anything, but I prefer to support independent sites rather than those that sell advertising and information about it's membership.
Can someone please advise?
I'm assuming that the poster "Diesel" is at least a moderator, as I have received an apparently generic PM from him. Is he the owner? Are there any credentials that might clarify this?
Also, there seems to be a decline in postings recently, as stated in the generic PM. Is this due to the entry into spring? It was mentioned that this may be due to the decline of media coverage concerning the current economic times, but I have not witnessed such a decline.Comment
