  • Drinking water filter home made

I'll start giving some tid bits to yall. When Katrina hit New Orleans every other word shouted was water. In my research and development one would be to take a 4-5 ft PVC pipe and glue a end cap to the 3-4" diameter pipe end and drill a hole in the middle of the end cap. Now every one knows that coffee filters are plentiful and cheap. Stuff or cram with a push rod one coffee filter pretty tight and pour the not so clean water in the top. This procedure can be done 3-4 times and all u have used is a coffee filter each time and each time the water gets cleaner. Now-the good part. You should have on hand the 40 lb play sand bags and then the pipe is filled with play sand maybe 12-18" and can further filter. these may be slow drip systems but they can work while we sleep. If u feel industrious u can line up several pipe water filters and have a production line going. after u have collected your final product, boil, cool to room temp or cooler and enjoy. In my unpublished work there is diagrams to show how the sand can be kept from the final product.

Have an illustration? The filter is crammed down in side the 4-5' length of pipe?

Didn't want this one to die until I see pics. How 'bout a "how to" link? I still can't visualize the coffee filter. You stuff it down in the 4' length of pipe?

Get me a link and I will post pics if I can find them. Just trying to help us all! ;)
