I'm presently reading Operation Damocles, a fiction by Oscar Fellows, for the fourth time....good book. Out of print now, but can be picked up on Amazon for as little as $1.00 + S&H.
Would like a forum for book reviews, or even book exchange......

I have an extensive collection myself, and would LOVE to assist in a book forum! I Like books(Not trying to be a nerd, but...)
Well, you're the second so far.....and book nerds like us are usually underrated, anyway ;) ....check out the audio books Rusty's got in circulation, too....I've got three of 'em right now, just waiting to be forwarded....you can find info on 'em in the free stuff forum....

Count me in. I have over 3000 books in my collection.
My paper book collection is slowly dwindling...I've gotten into the ebook format very heavily, 'cause it takes up so little space, and I can carry my entire library in my briefcase...including all the classics, and my bible in about 20 translations, all my survival intel, maps, you name it....and it all fits into a hacked rocket ebook 1150 with 21 hrs batt life on a single charge....
But there are still some books that aren't ebooked, so I still have to go caveman from time to time...;)

Did you ever listen to all of those books on tape? Are you ready for more?

I did, and I'm wondering why nobody else has taken advantage of 'em yet...????

I'm in the process of building an addition to my home which will include a small library since my book collection exceeds 5,000 books now. Yeah, so I'm I geek too I guess but reading, either electronically or on paper exercises the mind. BTW, Don't plan to move if you have a lot of books that are not ebooks because the boxes never end and they are extremely HEAVY!
I'm not too fond of ebooks, myself, I personally enjoy feeling the book, turning the pages and being able to read my books during the winter when I'm sitting by the fire with a VERY large glass of either iced tea or a cup of hot chocolate.
WORLD WAR Z aoral caption of the zombie war pretty good
Not that big a fan, the wife bought it for me cuz I enjoyed Max Brook's other book, The Zombie Survival Guide. I would recommend any guidebook written by Tom Brown for any real survival situation. My official book recommendation for the day would be Dune by Frank Herbert. Dunno if some of the anti-muslim people here could handle that tho. Too bad, I enjoy kicking bee's nests.

When people start classifying reading a "nerdy" " geeky" then one of two things need to be changed. Either convince the others that reading is a great pasttime or beat them up....
Dune is a great book though its' many sequels started to lose my attention shortly after begining them.
I really enjoy historical fiction if it is done well. My favorite author in that genre by far is Wilbur Smith. I do not recall reading a book of his that is not related to Africa in some way. THe best book, IMO, is The Sunbird. The good thing about this bok is it is a stand alone novel.
Do not let the African link keep you from reading this superb author. His recent series started with River God and is currently at four or five books.
I also read lots of the old sci-fi stuff pre-1975. I have many sci-fi books, hard and soft back, from the late 40s and early 50s. I enjoy bios and auto-bios as well. I am also fascinated with Germany during WW2, from combat to production to agriculture. All told i have somewhere around 3000 books.
My current favorite Germeny at war book is Why the Germans Lose at War by Kenneth MacKsey.
