  • Merry Christmas/Happy Hannukah...Whatever...

Just in case we miss each other in the coming busy week, I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to everyone.

I won't push my religious beliefs on anyone any further than to say God Bless you, and keep you.

I challenge every one of you to perform a random act of kindness this season. It's really something we should endeavor towards constantly, but now it's even more important....there are alot of people in need, and wondering what the new year will hold for them.

If you have a particular faith, share it with someone who has none, and is willing to listen. If you have an extra buck, find someone who's just a buck behind and make a friend, or at least a memory, for life.

Sorry 'bout the flood, but my wife and I were just discussing this post, and we've decided to put together a 3-day BoB for an associate of ours, who wants to prepare, but is in financial hardship right now.....About a $75.00 investment in the livlihood of a friend, and might even earn a new member in the survivalist community.

No pat on the back....just a suggestion...

Great ideas in both posts! I hope everyone remembers the "reason for the season" and does a good turn.

I also wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a joyous holiday season. Mama and I will be travelling back up to that great north area to once again experience cold and snow, so if I miss any good tidings from anybody I wish you well and happiness.
      ENJOY AND STAY SAFE

                Big Saw,

And a Merry Christmas/Happy Hannukah/Good Winter Solstice/Swinging Saturnalia back at 'cha!

                :D

This time of year, although terribly busy, is a wonderful time for Survivalists and Preppers. They get to eat off of and share in the bounty that they have raised, grown, and/or stockpiled all year long and even from years past.

I bought the cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie mix I used during Thanksgiving back in early Summer at $.33 a can for the cranberry sauce and $1.00 a can for the pumpkin pie mix. I still have turkey gravy mix I haven't used and much more veggies suitable for Holiday eating. I also have pecans for this year and last year that I'm sure I'll use.

Merry Christmass to all and to all a good night

My wife has been visiting her daughter for the past few days.
I'll be going to be with them Tues.
It's amazing how much you can take someone for granted after 20+ years.

Sounds like a good New Years resolution.
Don't take the Mrs. for granted.

LOL. Tried to send it, but it came back "Postage Due". I don't know if I trust the post office, they stole the snowman I built, and just filled the jar half full of water. I'm kinda mad now. :p

Okay.....it's Christmas day, or whatever you wanna call it.....

                        What's on the table?

For my family (meaning me and mine), we have broken away from the traditional ham, bird, stuffing, etc. For the past few years we've done Crab Fest.....

We invite whatever friends are available ('cause our families are pretty useless to us :( ), and we get 20Lbs of king crab legs, croissants, white wine from our local vineyard, about a half gallon of drawn butter, and pig out.
It stinks in the house for days, and the mess is unbelievable, but we have a great time, and it's worth the two days of constant digestive problems that follow. ;)

                        How 'bout y'all?

I always try for a Euro stlye Christmas. My wife does not cook much, and I am darn good at it so the menu this year will be as follows:

Cornish Game Hen with a Juniper dressing.
Mushrooms stuffed with olives and bacon
Spuds with onion, and bacon, fried in butter and topped with cottage cheese (its a German thing, but darn tasty)
Warjonka and coffee cold with milk (Polish/German alcoholic drink)
Asparagus with a perague sauce (wine reduction with spices)
Baked acorn squash with brown sugar and spice, served with creme.
And for dessert? Have not decided yet, but will probably be sliced apples baked in ramikins with nutmeg, cinnimon, sugar and some heavy creme, all tucked inside a pastry of some sort.

Remeber, before I get the "Wheres the Veggies" crowd, that Bacon is a vegetable in my house.

Sounds like a helluva spread, Rusty, and +1 on the bacon.
