    My wife uses mint oil and they dont like it and wont cross the oil i like to capture 1 or 2 and put them on pikes on either side of the trail as a warning to the others just kidding but the poil thing seems to work in VA

      you can also put out borax, mixed with a bit of sugar, the ants bring it back to the next and they die from eating it I guess. I put out dried spices each spring...my folks used bay leaves, but mints and cinnamon work better. I just shake it along their trail.

            Hey HerbalP! I've used borax before and it works great...I've never tried mints and cinnamon tho...do you crush up the mint after it's dried???? how do you do this...? Breath mints...eh? hehe

              My Mother has always used borax and swears by it.
