I doubt we will see any gators though....
Does that mean she is coming around a bit? I bet it would be so much easier for you fellas when your lady was on board. Does she enjoy reading? Can you try slipping a book in here and there, or a movies about "the end of the world"... HEy, at least she is going camping with you, right? Good luck, and HAVE FUN! stay safe...

"I have to ask though...what do ya do to keep a 10' gator out of the campsite much less the tent?? "

"I'd lay odds you keep the 12ga handy.... "

CountryGuy... That's a good question... Glad I didn't have to find an answer for that one.

And Looks like Echo2 has me figured out.
The 12ga.... It's not just for rabbits anymore.

I've read somewhere that they are not just for rabbits anymore....:)

No, just worried about big animals and maybe the wrong type of people, but I feel they (the bad people) rarely hang out at state parks, unless hiding from the law. Biggest problem is our unconstitutional no-carry laws. She is a full time student, so really no extra reading for another year. The main reason she is going for the camping is that we can bring our dog. Going to Disney for 8 days in 2 weeks and camping the weekend after that. Don't want to board her again, so this works out. She will probably just hang out at the camp site and study, but that means I can work with my daughter some and turn her into a woodswoman Jr.

You can keep the gators! Everything else looks like a blast! I love canoeing.

Very nice pictures and Thanks for sharing, but I'm more impressed by the fact that you took your Daughter along. All of us need to get the younger ones out there. It's a great learning experience for all!!!

I sometimes get fustrated wishing I had someone to mentor. There is so much knowledge out there that will only disappear with time if it isn't passed down to our younger generations.

My Daughter has learned so much, but we are so limited to time with each other because of her school schedule which is understandable.

A KID IN THE WOODS IS A KID OFF THE STREETS...I'm not sure who said that, but it is so true in so many ways!

My daughter loves the outdoors... I'm praying that she always does, but she's only 11 and I'm sure she'll be hearing the shopping mall, and boys calling her name soon enough. I'm not looking forward to that phase in her life.
She was in charge of the fire on Saturday night of our trip. We both gathered wood, then she separated it into tinder, kindling, and firewood. She seemed to really enjoy building the fire and I think she was more than a little proud of her final product.

When you said the tent was big, I did not realize you were camping in a 2 car garage.
                      Great pics
                      Thanks for posting them.

                        Nope, not paranoid, smart Daddy!

                        And that's a GREAT fire!

I'd say she gets a point for her "mancard"....but that doesn't fit.....how about a "one step closer to independence card"....:)

keep the kids in the woods....my kids love it...as of now.
