Folks, I had a patient come in today that gave me a grave warning. First of all, he is a former special forces person who does work for the FBI and other groups (in his words) from time to time. We have talked before about CCW and other tactics for home security so he knows where I am coming from. He told the doctor and myself that there are some things certain government agencies are preparing for in the next six months. He said if you do not have a CCW- get it and get it now!!!! He also said to start getting ammo and weapons together as well as food stocks that will last several years. It is going to hit the fan in the next six months. The government is preparing for total chaos and how to control it. The only other thing he said was watch what is happening to Greece and get to preparing. I will try to find out more when he returns in a few months.

No offense to you or your source, but I think this seems to be a recurring thing. About once a year I have people saying this type of stuff. Now as for being prepared, we all need to be. As for getting ammo and a ccw if we don't have one, needs to be done. Honestly, I just think that the percentage factor of the possibility of SHTF is going way up and will continue to rise if obama is in office and all the corruption in general. I don't think that there is a set time for any of this stuff to happen, but I do think that things can easily happen.

You have a good point there Jake. It seems that every few months we hear that we have 6 months to a year before the fur flies...
However.....
This stuff going on in Greece could be used as a crystal ball for our nations future. Stocks are plummeting again, Fannie May reports that they'll continue to lose $8.4 million per quarter, Social Security is scheduled to go into the red within the year, We, The People, will now try to bailout Greece when we owe more money to China than the Liberals could ever count in their lifetime...
All of these things are starting to add up.
Check out this article written by John Lott for Fox News.
This is some scary stuff. Be ready people!!!
Greece Offers a Frightening Glimpse of the Future
Greece is a small share of the world market, and Athens is almost 5,000 miles from New York City. Yet, the wild swings in the stock market on Thursday stem not from Greece’s size, but from what it tells people about the future for other countries. On American’s current path, Greece’s current woes will be our future. From slower economic growth to having less money for their retirements, Americans have a real stake in learning from Greece’s errors. Hopefully, the 347 point drop in the Dow Jones Industrial Average yesterday and the over 700 point drop since Tuesday will get Washington's attention.
The violent demonstrations in Greece are showing how incredibly hard it is to control government spending once programs are started. Even just cuts in the growth in spending are meeting stiff opposition. . . .

Our economy is based on what stock prices are. If the Dow is up, then things are going well, when it drops, things are a bit more difficult. That shouldn't be. Increased taxes are imposed to support ever expanding government - which makes no business sense. Since the world is run by the stock market, and stocks are based on business principles, wouldn't it be prudent to run the government like a business? When your business isn't earning enough money, it doesn't make sense to raise prices and hire more people.
Strip the government down to bare necessities, lower taxes to increase growth, and quickly, you will begin to see profits again. I have no hope for this society as we see it now, because everyone lives by the motto either subconsciously or not, "How will this benefit me?"
We're on the brink of total world economic collapse now more than ever. Every country owes money to the others in the way that they are borrowing money from someone else to pay off an older debt. That's like paying your Visa with your Mastercard, and using your American Express to live on. Nobody is willing to invest money because they're afraid they may not have any tomorrow. Corporations own the world, and we've already seen what happens when corporations rule the world...enter the great depression.
Just my 2 cents, and my rant for the day. Even though I fear for the future, I also encourage it to take place."Reject the basic assumptions of civilization, especially the importance of material possessions." "The things you own end up owning you"-Tyler Durden

A CCW is a Carry Concealed Weapon permit. I do not know about Alaska, but in most states, you have to have this permit in order to hide your pistol on you. The process is going through the class which ranges from $50-$80 around here and passing which is easy. You will recieve a certificate and take it to the sheriffs office and wait at least a month or so. Here it will cost me about $90. Now keep in mind you must meet the qualifications such as not being mentally ill, no felonies, then goes into details about not having certain charges.

Well, as far as I'm concerned, I do have a CCW, but I regret it at times. Yes it is nice to be able to walk in any gun store in NC and purchase a pistol that catches your eye, but, you are registered now with the FBI, they know everything about you. Do you really think a CCW would be necessary in a shtf scenario? I don't. My wife wanted to get hers but I talked her out of it. I just don't like Big Bro knowing any more about me than he has to. I'd bet money that every CCW owner has a red flag out by his/her name in case of a "event" it would be much easier to "round them up"....Let's see, prior military, Christian, registered republican, CCW permit holder, yep, I'm a threat. Sometimes you are just better off flying under the radar. And that's my two cent.

But David you still have to show ID or a permit(for handguns) to purchase a firearm. Don't you think the red flag pops up everytime that happens. Or for that matter every time you sign on to this site. Now I am screwed more than most because Illinois does not have any kind of carry laws. And since I am no longer a NC resident (we moved last July) my NC CCW is no longer valid. I just think everyone is on one list or another depending on so many different actions we have taken. He who lives with the most toys, wins.

But once you have the permit they do not call in for each gun you purchase. I think having a CCW and not having NICS checks once or twice a month is lower risk that the opposite.
I go through a lot of guns. I went through several to get to my current carry piece. I have lost some weight so am going to try a Glock again now that there is less love handle interference.
The j-frame smith and wesson is just smoother and more comfortable. My weapon can kill, it isn't limited to mere assault

I've been buying ammo for better than 40 years in Kentucky, and have never filled out any paper work,or been ask for any ID. Also have a CCDW permit ,and here they still do a background check when purchasing a new firearm of any type.Every Day , Is A Bonus.
