  • North Texas Group

Us... We are a suburban family of four in the North Texas DFW area. We work, raise and love our kids (2), pet our dog (1), pay our bills and taxes, and recently have started to prep for turbulent times to come. We enjoy (most of) our suburban life. We're not looking to leave society, so long as it functions. Yet, due to our proximity to a large population center, we seek a secondary (more remote) location to fall back to, should "it" happen (economic collapse, solar event, EMP, natural disaster, etc., take your pick). And this is why I'm reaching out tonight.

We're wanting to meet like-minded families who share similar concerns and are wanting to take the next step. The next step (as I see it) is a land purchase, and with that, the formation of a GROUP. NOT A CULT. Yes, I know... land aint cheap. But, if you haven't looked into it, I think you'd be surprised what a group's purchasing power could obtain within 3 hours of DFW. Can we go it alone? Financially speaking, probably. Do we want to go it alone... no! A man alone (and his family) is easy prey.

    What we DO seek...
    - A land parcel large enough to accommodate several families (30 acres or much more)
    - Close enough to DFW so weekend trips, to improve and stock it, would be feasible
    - Land conducive to weekend retreats/holidays in good times (horseback, ATVs, hunting)
    - Enough family/owner traffic to keep it semi-occupied during the weekends/holidays
    - Forward thinkers... people who would buy in and keep their share for kids/future generations
    - RNs/Drs, mechanics, electricians, teachers, gardeners, veterans, engineers, carpenters, vets, etc.)
    - Professions (above) not required. Note: I'm not any of the above
    - Nice people who like to have a drink (or soft drink) and laugh in a group :)

    What we DO NOT seek...
    - Gun control folks (I will protect your family. You will protect mine)
    - No Radicals... we're looking to avoid trouble when possible.
    - Hunters only out for a cheap deer lease... we're wanting more from you then that

Are you out there? Please reply or PM me. I'd like to meet and talk. We only need one or two families to get started. I have many thoughts and plans, but I'm one guy (with wifey support). Much more can be accomplished, and faster, with like-minded, good, honest people and families.

That will depend on how much response I get around these parts :)

I figured on the initial silence though... it's a big step (financially and emotionally) to actually procure a second location.
I have faith though... there are others near me seeking the same. Just gotta keep reaching out.

If it is possible to get a large parcel where each family can own a few acres and have it be contiguous with maybe a common
area I might be interested and I bet you can find more people who might be interested. Communal ownership is a tough
go for a lot of americans, especially independent minded prepper types.

            Oscar,

I have looked at MO (have family there). My only fear is it's too far from Dallas to reach in an emergency. PM me the county and any other info you'd care to share.

Sounds like he has a good plan, but I could never be a pacifist, his interpretation of the bible is very difference from mine.

I don't know anything about the guy. I somewhere ran across an article of his plan for him and his followers .... sounded like a sensible thing to do. Pacifism worked ok for Gahndi long enough to drive out the brits but at quite a high price. Won't work for our present situation cause we don't matter....
