I am back! (hope y'all missed me!)

Due to a heavy workload, I wasnt' on XC for about two months, and I am just starting to have more free time to go online and have a ton of reading ahead of me.

To anyone who may have posed questions for me or replied to my threads (and I know there were a few notifications I received)...I will reply to you as time allows, like I said playing "Catch Up" with two months worth of messages will take a while. A couple of you are people I talk to outside of XC and perhaps you informed anyone who was looking for me that I was busy and not online much, but hopefully nobody had any urgent queries...

I'm back as well, if y'all don't mind.

The past year has been a little tough...

My mother died from cancer in April of 2008. She hated hospitals and wanted to die in her own bed in her own home. I made sure that she got her wish. I did have some help from Hospice, they were great, but I was the primary care giver. I was with her when she took her last breath. Just like with her sister and her mother.

2 months later, while stopped at a stop sign, my little Toyota ickup was struck in the rear by a large Ford F-350. I received a concussion. The pain was so bad that when I raised my head, I would vomit. Yep, there was some brain damage. I couldn't see out of my right eye for 2 days. My vision wasn't right for weeks. I had trouble speaking and remembering. I had to have a dictionary on my desk due to trouble spelling. I still have severe headaches.

3 months later, a water line busted upstairs and the house was flooded. The wall board on the walls and ceilings fell down on most of the first floor. 50% of the house had to be stripped down to the beams and rebuilt. A subcontractor got into a fight with the contractor in the front yard. He put a lien on my house. I had to deal with the legal stuff.

I had to live in a hotel for 3 months in a seedy part of town. Prostitutes and pushers where regularly in the parking lot on weekends. The hispanics would burn their food they were cooking which set off the fire alarms about 2 or 3 times a week.

The hotel bed was so hard I developed sleep problems. If I woke up from noise or whatever after just 3 or more hours of sleep, I could not go back to sleep. The doctor prescribed an anti-anxiety med and a sllep med, Ambien. I developed some severe side effects from the meds, paranoia, hyper-aggression, psychotic visions.

4 months later, I was fired from my state job of 5 years.

2 months later, I had to put my pet Boxer to sleep due to cancer.

1 month later my father died from liver disease.

2 weeks ago, while doing some yard work, I got stung several times by Yellowjackets and had to go to the hospital for anaphylactic shock.

To be honest, I look back on it and wonder why I didn't just let the ana shock take me away from it all.

VI sorry to hear what happened to you! But everything happens for a reason, lessons learned I suppose...that which does not kill you, only makes you stronger!
