They have their place i know the Militia here in Noxon and they have alot of great info. Im glad that they are on my side! The groups that i stear away from are the Hate Groups like KKK and others... The gentleman that runs that group is from NH and has his head together better than most militia-types.

My advice is to join the Army or the USMC. Go in for the minimum time required, and go in as an infantryman, preferably light infantry. Unless you can find a like-minded friend or family member who served in the military that's really the only way you can acquire the skill-set required to do this the right way.

Once you get out, take five people you know you can trust your life with and live within 100 miles you and form your own group. That avoids 99% of the problems you'll run into with militia groups.

I'm conflicted on the Militia. I can see value in an organized local force, but I find myself wondering who the opposition might be in the future. I find much of the banter on militia message boards to be about over throwing the government and turning rifles on American soldiers. I honestly do not have any interest in entertaining that sort of thought process.... There may come a time when a forceful change in government is needed, and that time may come sooner than we think, but until then, it smacks of treason.

In the event of a disaster where localized armies are needed, I'm not sure that many if any states, have the infrastructure in place to command a statewide militia. Chain of command is confusing at best, and I imagine communication between regiments would be sketchy. I tend to agree with Ticom, in that it may be better to form a small localized group to patrol and protect local assets. I know I will want to stay as close to home as possible to protect my family and neighbors.

I do feel that there is a need for some militarized organization at the community or neighborhood level. For many of us, we already share ground with some form of street gang, or gangs. These groups are already somewhat organized, often armed, and fiercely loyal to their own. In a lawless society, they would be a viable threat to us and our preps.

“Viable threat”…………………Other than Gov. Confiscation they would be “the threat.” Think drug cartel, or Somali warlord or ACORN. They are organized, loyal, armed, and ruthless. They didn’t follow society’s rules of decency before the event/incident they certainly won’t after. As their power and wealth (food, fuel, supplies etc) grows so will their greed, want, and willingness to do whatever it takes to get it.

I'm afraid we are no longer bound by law, and the law that held us together is the constitution and is being ignored by the currrent adminstration, the one before that, etc for the last 80 years.

As to a previous post, Treason is determined by the winners. Had we lost the America revolution then the leaders would have been hung for treason. I think the any member of government that ignores the constution they swore to uphold and defend is committing treason. This includes voting for any restriction of my rights or allowing any government entitlement program.

There will no civil war, those that ride the backs of those that are productive cannot win. If they kill the productive they have nobody to leach off of. Do you really think the welfare class wants to fight against those that pay for all their free government goodies. I think not. All it takes is enough people to stand up and be fed up and we win.

Its not like the french revolution where the lower classes were the productive ones, our welfare class produces only more welfare babies.

Aren't they the same ones that when they riot only distroy their own neighborhoods and area's? Why wouldn't they, somebody always rebuilds it for them.

Aren't they the same ones that don't really look to the future or plan ahead? Why would they, somebody always takes care of them. So not looking ahead at the big picture..........par for the course.

I am in a group that is available for you to look at it is www.oathkeepers.org and I would suggest you check it out. We are forming to prevent abuse not to destroy anything. Maybe you need to do some serious self interspective type thinking and figure out just what it'll take for you to function in a SHTF situation. Nobody wants their world ripped up and tossed overboard, most here think it is coming soon in one form or another myself included. Mentally prepare now for a easier transition into the mess that will require us to be the best we can be in so many ways.
