Folks,
Please do not go to or use the website CARS.GOV. When you use this website, you have to agree to its policies. Once you agree, it gives the government the ability to search your computer at random for any type of information it wants. I have had two individuals tell me that they used the website and have had outside searches performed on thier computer since. I also heard this on Glenn Beck the other day.

It is for authorized use only. Users (authorized or unauthorized) have no explicit or implicit expectation of privacy.
Any or all uses of this system and all files on this system may be intercepted, monitored, recorded, copied, audited, inspected, and disclosed to authorized CARS, DoT, and law enforcement personnel, as well as authorized officials of other agencies, both domestic and foreign. By using this system, the user consents to such interception, monitoring, recording, copying, auditing, inspection, and disclosure at the discretion CARS or the DoT personnel.
Unauthorized or improper use of this system may result in administrative disciplinary action and civil and criminal penalties.

The gubment will give you money, in exchange for your car, and your personal liberties. People never read the "Policies and Disclosure statement" upon clicking the "I agree" button, and "they" know this, so why not put something in there that allows them to spy on your personal computer?
