This is why we should be aware of both Jewish and Muslim holiday's. Anyone remember hearing of the Yom Kippur war? Tonight is the begining of Yom Kippur.
I would like to thank you Rusty for bringing the significance of these holidays to my attention. Great information. I forgot to say thanks the last time you mentioned this and wanted to do so.

Again, I must say. I am NOT a religious Jew, I am Lutheran. My mother is 1/2 Jew. I consider myself German. However, I do recognize that what happens in the middle east affects the US. And Yom Kippur has been, traditionally, a time of conflict. All it takes is some whacko Hasidic Jewish group or some nut job Palestinian sect getting a hold of a nuke, bio weapon or strategicaly place a car bomb, and we all get rolled into the system. We have to remember, the reason a lot of the Muslims dislike us is we have strategic alliances with Israel.
It appears things are calm over there right now though. Let us pray it stays that way for another year.
Rusty, While it is important to pay attention to Jewish and Muslim calendars, it would be a mistake to think that practitioners of The Religion of Peace and Compassion (TM) only hate the U.S. solely for it's ties with Israel.
The Practitioners of The Religion of Peace and Compassion (TM) have had it in for the U.S. long before the discovery of crude oil in the Middle East, long before the Zionist movement, and long before the existence of Israel.
When American Revolutionary Naval Commander John Paul Jones offered his services to Russia's Catherine the Great, he encountered captured Ottoman Turk Muslim raiders who admitted that they were willing to set their own ships on fire and ram their ships into Russian ships, in a low-tech version of a murder/suicide attack. Jews, Zionism, and Israel, of course, had nothing to do with that.
Moreover, there were the Muslim Barbary Pirates sometimes called "Corsairs." They were motivated more than just by booty, since they referred to themselves as 'Al-Ghuzat"--Holy Raiders, soldiers of Mohommed. Their acts of plunder, kidnapping, and terror, had nothing to do with Jews, Zionism, or Israel.
Lest anyone forget also, the United States' first war was not The War of 1812, but The First Barbary War from 1801 to 1805. Islamic Barbary Pirates were kidnapping Americans on the high seas and demanding ransom for them and the great Deist President Thomas Jefferson rightfully responded by declaring war on them and defeating them. The U.S. Marine Corps Anthem refers to the war with the Barbary Pirates when it says: "From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli..." (Emphasis added.)
I might add, in 1904, Muslim Barbary kidnapper Rasuli kidnapped American businessman Ion Perdicaris and President Teddy Roosevelt sent a fleet of warships to successfully bring him back. Roosevelt's motto was: "Perdicaris Alive Or Rasuli Dead!"
The Most Consequential Elections in History: Theodore Roosevelt and the Election of 1904
And all of this took place long before there was even such a thing as AIPAC.
It's quite simple: The Practitioners of The Religion of Peace and Compassion (TM) wanted the Big Blue Marble for themselves back then, and they still want the Big Blue Marble now, Jews or no Jews, Zionism or no Zionism, Israel or no Israel, and that Big Blue Marble includes our portion of it. Until Islam renounces the spread and instituting of religion via the force of jihad and Sha'ria law and via the fraud of Taquiiya, it is at odds with humanity.

I am well aware that the peaceful Islamists use that as an excuse. If you do a bit of reading into the religion of peace, you will learn that all lands once conquered by them is considered part of their empire. This includes Spain, parts of Eastern Europe (Thank goodness for Vlad the Impaler who stopped them from taking Western Europe), North Africa, parts of Western China, Northern India, and many other places.
They consider us an extension of the religious wars of conquest that started in the middle ages and continues until today. Of course our less then moral society, and the crap we export around the world does not really help our case much. We are, and always be considered as Crusaders. To a society steeped in strange voodoo like mythology, where scientific and societal advancement has been halted around the west's equivelent of the Dark Ages, the people are easily influenced.
These people still consider us an extension of the Greeks, who stomped their guts out under Alexander.
I am saying, let them be over there. Defend us, and let them kill each other. After all, without an external enemy, will they not kill each other?

Basically, you are correct about Muslim claims to territory, although it was Jan Sobieski and his forces who turned the Ottoman Turks away from Europe at the gates of Vienna on--of all days--September 11, 1683.
Vlad the Impaler wasn't much of a help to the cause of opposing Jihad, except, of course, to give the Ottoman Turks a taste of their own ghoulish medicine. Choosing between Vlad and the Jihadists would be like wagering on two scorpions in a bottle. Whatever the outcome, it wouldn't be pretty.

There is much controversy about that, even among the staunchest opponents of Islamofascism.
The creator of Jihadwatch.org, Robert Spenser, contends--quite rightly I think--that Buddhist and Hindu culture are quite conservative compared to the culture of the U.S. and the West, yet the Islamofascists wage terror against Buddhists and Hindus anyway.
Basically, we could throw every copy of Playboy and Blue Boy in a bonfire and shut down every porn channel and smutty Web Site and it would still not make the Islamofascists love us. Their target is anyone and anything that is not under submission to Islam.
We are, and always be considered as Crusaders. To a society steeped in strange voodoo like mythology, where scientific and societal advancement has been halted around the west's equivelent of the Dark Ages, the people are easily influenced.
There is much truth to that, although under Sha'ria law, unarmed Christians and Jews are considered great pets. (Insert sarcasm here.)
However, also under Sha'ria and the laws of Jihad, Atheists (such as myself) are exterminated outright, as are Buddhists, Taoists, and Polytheistic Hindus, Animists, and Pagans. The stakes in this World War are real high from my end.
These people still consider us an extension of the Greeks, who stomped their guts out under Alexander.
Funny they should think like that. Islam didn't exist at the time of Alexander, but, of course, little details like history still didn't stop the Islamofascists in Iran from raising Hell over the movie 300.
:D

The moment the U.S. becomes energy independent and has destroyed all Al-Qaeda cells at home and abroad, we will have the luxury to go home and tell all the Islamofascists, both Sunni and Shia, to go pound sand. And yes, it would be great to have Islam collapse from its own fratricidal and suicidal blood-lust.
Until that moment comes, we're still in "interesting times" and still have to both fight and prepare for whatever comes next.

You are exactly correct in all you posted. History proves what this religion/cult does, wants, and causes. It wants total control and suppression of all. They can't even get along with their own selves, and these two main groups continually are at war with each over a foolish concept of rulership of this religion/cult.
I don't mean to bash anyones religious beliefs, but at some point it does look like humanity would wake up and see the light on certain things. Have you all ever really asked yourselves just what is RELIGION??
I believe in a God/Higher Consciousness/Great Crator or whatever, but God has NO RELIGION. Now think about that concept for a while and see what you come up with.
