  • What Are You Preparing For?

Ok guys and gals, serious question here. What are you preparing for? By that I mean what are you expecting to happen and why.
Personally I don't see a total societal collapse coming but I may be wrong. What I do see though are several scenarios that could leave us without water, food, fuel, utilities and communication abilities for 30 to 90 days, possibly longer depending on what actually happens.
My preparations are based around that but maybe I need to be looking at longer term scenarios.
    What are you doing?

This had been the topic of a previous post a few months back, but I'm preparing for...whatever happens. Be it economic uprising, biomolecular warfare, natural disaster, or what-have-you.

Oh, and the first rule of project mayhem is you do not ask questions. :P

I don't know about everybody else, but I beleive when TSHTF it won't be 30 to 90 days, it will be for good. At least as long if not longer than an average lifespan. To prepare for less is not really prepping. I don't plan just to survive, but to "live" also. Plan on having a way to make a living rather than just surviving for a short period of time. You will need something that you know how to do, or make that you can trade for supplies. A skill like gunsmithing, blacksmithing, medicine, generating pwr, etc. etc. Plan for a long haul or you will find yourself short on supplies. Sorry this sounds like I'm preaching, its what I believe. my 2cents worth.

For what ever may or may not come. We eat what we store and store what we eat. That in itself helps save some money.

I'm updating my "why am I preparing" status to include the possible eviction from my apartment due to my lack of hours at my current job. I'm a security guard but don't have much in the way of hours. They have me scheduled for 32 hours the entire month of August. So, I'm preparing for that as well.
