A good editor could fix these issues.

American Survival Guide was part of a publishing house whose owner died and whose wife sold it off. The mag never had numbers in excess of 45,000 even at it's Y2K high. The mag barely paid it's contributors. When trade mags typicaly paid $125 a page and $35 per photo ASG was paying $125 and article, which kept the quality of it's content low, many of it's articles suffered from gross errors in spelling and punctuation.
To make an online magazine work the content has to be of very high caliber in order to justify it's existance as it will be competeing against the entire internet. This means paying professional rates for professional writers.

I'd be interested. I'd like more of a variety of things to discuss (sometimes feel I can't contritube much other than news and food) and this could very possibly provide that.

One already exists. From the original publishers of The American Survival Guide:

Great publication when it was in print. They did not have the sales and readership following after Y2K to continue publishing it, so they went the internet route.

    Ok

Sounds ok if the magazine is free and there are lots of pictures of survival girls and we have the ability to unqualify ourselves.

I second that. What constitutes "qualified" to contribute?

I wouldn't consider myself qualified to contribute, but I'd certainly be interested in it.

What would you guys think of an online Survival & Gear Magazine

I'm thinking of starting one that would have monthly or weekly articles, formal gear reviews, accept gear advertisers, and be a real online resource for our hobby.

Would be interested to know who here reads something like this already

would you be interested in contributing articles (that you are qualified to contribute)

do you think there is a need for one?
