Unemployment

Unswydd, I am very sorry to hear of your job loss. Losing a job or being "rifted" in no way is any reflection on you and the type of work that you performed. Keep your head up and remember that you are a vital member to any organization so be selective when choosing.
If it is any consultation my neighbor has been unemployed for five months now and has no plans to find any work since he is getting unemployment benefits. I can understand his position, every check he earned the government took out money for such an occasion and now he is getting his money back. Well it works for him.

LOL. Yeah, but Lye is not easy to come by. Boil the fat to separate the tallow, mix the tallow with the Lye, etc. etc.

Amen Vis'Drops! They're out there, anybody try going on their States Civil Service web site? Look over all the jobs and sign up to take every test you can. Something is bound to come along. In the mean time keep getting yourself out there! Word of mouth, networking, friends and family all good ways to find prospects. Not my area of expertise, just spitballing. Wishing you all end up with meaningful, fullfilling work! (If not when the time comes, I'll stand with the defenders of the Constitution!! Which I swore an oath to defend several times!)

As the world around us crumbles into oblivion, it is nice to know that those who share the same mindset can still gather together to offer help. Pressing on is the only thing we can do, since giving up doesn't accomplish anything.

I've been looking for suitable work for the past month or so, and the prospects are looking more bleak every day. As government continues to expand, the private sector shrinks, and our outlook diminishes. I think back to a quote from the movie, and book, "Fight Club" which states: It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything.

I'll still be on. Just not as often. You both have my "number" and can either skype me or im me on Yahoo. I have also talked to my brother about piggybacking off of the church if I can pay a little toward their bill. Haven't heard anything yet, he said he'd take it before the board, they all love me so I'm sure it will go through, problem is that they just met and won't meet again until the end of July. Arrrrgggg! That's alright tho. I can be patient and wait.
I too feel that you are a dear friend to me. I think of you as family now and I'm just gonna be on a short leash for a while.

I did know this was coming. Actually for a long time I've been "feeling" that something was in the works. It's just been recently that it's been really heavy and I think in my heart I knew it was about to happen I just didn't know when.
I guess 3 more got it after me this morning. I got a call from my smokin' partner and she got it too. Hmmm......smokers.......hmmmm........lol
