  • CME event in 2012

Ok my wife heard something about this a few weeks ago in the news and mentioned it to me.
I can't seem to find anything on this other than some junk at NASA that just tells what a CME can do and not do? Did anyone else catch the whole story behind this? My wife really became concerned because it was like yeah it could happen, but who cares! She remembered the news saying that it could knock out power, comms, cars and such over an entire hemisphere when it occurs. And the part that she really was concerned about was that they are certain it was going to occur, but at what extent they were unsure.

    Coronal Mass Ejections (CME)

Coronal Mass Ejections (CME) in 2012 the sun will be at it's peak of solar activity and will emit solar flares in our direction.

Apparently it can cause massive EMP's. That's going to be a year to watch for sure...next elections, the economy at it's worst, people fed up and now solar flares.

With everything that's related to 2012, it is no surprise that people become skeptical. A planet hitting the earth, solar flares, cosmic alignment, centralization of our sun in the galaxy, the end of an era regarding the mayan calendar.

With so much information regarding tradgedy occurring in 2012, I can imagine that even if nothing significant happens, people will begin to destroy themselves in preparation of what they consider "the end".

I'm hoping something happens, because maybe then sheeple will really understand what's important in life, and begin thinking for themselves once again.

False prophets and date setters have been preparing mankind for centuries -- to NOT be prepared. We are suffering from a masive case of "the boy who cried wolf". The result is that you have a small goup of whacko conspiracy theorists, that get persecuted, laughed at, shunned and stereotyped for doing what is recommended by every gov't and disaster related agency... being prepared! Crazy, mixed up world, ain't it.

With Korea and Iran doing the nuclear thing, I don't think we are going to have until 2012.

Thats right!!!!! While i was worrying about the economy or terrorists, many people heard the Lords trumpet call today. (or whatever euphemism for buying the farm you prefer to use) So be prepared physically and spiritually at all times.
Sometimes i feel loathe to even mention 2012 because i can see the coming onslaught of media hysteria bearing down on me like some kind of vomitous freight train. I know will will see the same parade of prophecy/end times clowns that we saw in 1999, with books and DVDs to peddle, some of these snake oil salesmen will have cojones so large that they will dare call themselves "reverend" as they drag the sacred name of Christ through the mud.
Must have been nice in the old(testament)days when a false prophet would be taken outside the city gates and stoned :-)
Where is that end rant smilie...i need it now.
Anyway, i dont have a solid fix on what will happen but it is a real astronomical event.
Has anyone but me already heard sheeple bleating(when 2012 topic came up)
" yeah yeah i heard all this doom crap in 1999"?

I know what you mean about mentioning 2012...people start wanting to give you a tin hat or a straight jacket.
However, if you leave out prophacy, solar flares, pole shift and other things like that...remember that is the year that we hold our next presidential elections. It's also about the time that the whole stimulous debt will really start hitting home. That alone is enough to really scare the crap out of anyone!
Barring any natural disasters or acts of terro from another country, the economy can limp along for that long...slowly declining. Many people think it will take about 3 years to really have TSHTF. With the way diplomacy takes it's time, there is bound to be a real conflict hitting about that time too...that's when we are supposed to pull out of Iraq also, leaving more room for Al Q to work it's majic, or Iran. That time frame is really ripe for a LOT of things.

My 76 YO mother thinks I'm nuts about stocking up on groceries, but asked that we have the whole family together in 2012 on Dec whatever-it-is.

                            WHO'S nuts?

                              Fellow Survivalists,

In a certain sense, TEOTWAWKI happens every night, and the world begins anew the next day.

There are plenty of real, bona fide natural and man-made disasters that happen every day and can happen anytime without bringing speculation about 2012 or other "End-of-the-World" dates into the discussion.

To give some perspective on this subject, I give you this ancient quote:

                              "The Earth is degenerating today.
                              Bribery and corruption abound.
Children no longer obey their parents,
every man wants to write a book, and
it is evident that the end of the world is fast approaching."

                              --Assyrian Tablet, circa 2800 B.C.E.
"Apocalypse is by no means inevitable." --Jim Rice.
