TROLLS...............what pleasure do they derive from their sick behavior.....??? I just don't understand. They must be very-very-VERY "SICK" S.O.B.

Sad.......Does anyone know if there is a medical name for this sick behavior.

I honestly would appreciate any information that is known about why they do this, and what sick and twisted pleasure the they receive.

Sourdough, You mean a gentleman with your experience, doesn't know about trolls. Well, as you can see in the picture, their UGLY. They were also created DUMB and with no manners. They were also created EVIL, so they do bad things. Not sure about a medical name. Maybe somebody else knows that. Hope this helps. LOL!

I looked last night for the "Ignore" but could not find a way to avoid Murphy's aggressive behavior. To be honest, he does not "Fit" my understanding of standard "TROLL" behavior. I don't think he is making a conscious effort to deliberate annoy and disrupt the forum. I think he unconscious that he is just a Natural Ass-hole, I think he has been an Ass-hole for so long that he can't even grasp that he is being a condescending-righteous ass-hole.

Nebbermind... I figured it out. Here is a quick tutorial for those who would like to use the handy-dandy "Ignore" feature.



Click onto your name at the top far right side of the forum's page.

Toggle the drop-down menu to find the "User Settings."

Click on "User Settings." When you get there, you will see four options to choose from:

Profile - Account - Notifications - Subscriptions

Click on "Account." Scroll all the way down to the bottom of that page. You will see:

To block certain users' posts, enter their names into the ignore list. To remove users from the ignore list, click the 'x' button.

TIP: To ensure that your intended poster's name will work, the name must be EXACTLY the same as the poster's name...spaces, capital letters, everything! Copy and paste it to make sure.

BE SURE TO SAVE YOUR CHANGES by clicking onto the "Save Changes" button at the bottom of the page, on the far right side.

Then "refresh" your browser by clicking onto the little semi-circle at the top of your browser page (or else leave the site and come back).




If enough people did this trick, trolls will eventually get bored and leave.

I have not insulted you a single time in this forum, NOT ONCE...

The fact is, I don't need to insult you.. There is no requirement for that and it would be counter productive.

So I will take the liberty of telling you this: I believe that although not directly affected, Sourdough and many of us here are put-off by your ahem...bombastic dialogue with others. I have seen this many times here and on other forums, and I am afraid that eventually you will be frozen out of here or banned, as well.

This is sad, because I have enjoyed the threads that you have started here and learned a lot in the process. But, gee-whiz, even the thickest-skinned readers will tire of the insulting,condescending, superior, don't-give-a-damn-what-anyone-thinks attitude. I joined this forum for two reasons.. First, Sourdough personally invited me to this forum from another forum through private messaging.. and yes, he knew full well of my propensity to say what I think and not sugar coat the facts.

But that wasn't enough for me, I find most survivalist forums are filled with bible thumping conspiracy theorists and had long ago decided it wasn't the kind of crowd that could have real discussions. But then I saw those big red letters at the top of every page:
== Survival Magazine is NOT a place to discuss kooky wacko tin foil hat concepts, conspiracies, politics, religion, they are coming to get us or are watching us stuff. Reciting fake news or beliefs from wacko blogs will not be tolerated. There are a ton of other forums and sites out there for that. ==>

And I thought, hmm.. maybe the moderator(s) keep a tight lid on the wack jobs who push that stuff..

But apparently that is not the case.. The clear absence of the moderators has allowed this place to become a cesspool of exactly what I wanted to avoid.

I appreciate your post.. Like the member FarmrBrown on the other forum, I think your responses are interesting and not so boringly predictable as some others. Its too bad you and I won't figure out what we do or don't agree on and have the opportunity to discuss the differences or learn from each other.

Every forum seems to have a few members who form their own little gang (just like grade school children) and trash anyone they don't agree with.. This forum will now suffer the consequences and lose a knowledgeable member due to that being allowed.

You know what the irony is? I can still come back here anytime I want, banned, shunned away, or not.... and read and collect as much information as I want.. It just became a one way street, information and knowledge flowing out of the forum and not into the forum.. (not to smart if you ask me)

Hate to see you go. Do I always agree with you, nope. Do I agree with your views all the time, nope. Have you made me rethink or reconsider some of my preps, yep.. And that's what this is to be all about. I guess I look at it as putting things out there, irregardless of what others think or believe is what freedom is all about at it's core. Freedom isn't about me being able to say or do what I want, it's about the other guy being able to do or say what he wants that I don't like or agree with.

I do get that many find your comments off putting, especially your views on religion. Which is your right but the only thing I will say is that you're pretty harsh on that point towards others that do believe in religion. I believe you even stated anyone that believes in religion was basically a moron. I see where many would take it as a personal attack. In general I'm a direct type of person and it doesn't bother me, I'd rather have a person be frank and straight up. When you said things I didn't like or agree with, I just moved on to the next thread if it wasn't something I felt worth replying to.

So hope you might reconsider as we've lost way to many quality people here for many differing and often unknown reasons. From the sounds of it, maybe you need to create your own atheist/ agnostic survival forum. Best wishes going forward.
