Thank YOU, for sharing your story! Oh, I have irons in many fires. Like I said, I am a work-a-holic and am constantly doing something, be it making soap, candles, cleaning houses, and this time of year tax returns, etc. I have to always be busy.

I really do like my current "main" job as it has allowed me to be at home with my kids, though my babies are all almost grown now. :(

So far, my husband's job is still as busy as ever and for that I am very grateful.

Now if it comes down to me having to pay them for the opportunity to work, I will draw the line there! :D

Best of luck to you. Keeping a positive attitude helps.
I'd hate to be among the unemployed, that would really be
    bad.

Hang in there WE are all in this mess togather. I for one have really been reading labels I will do without if it comes from China, Mexico, or India.
That means no trips to walmart, but I am willing to do my part and do without.
Oh {{{Billy}}} I am very sorry about your work situation as well. :(

I have been with this particular company for only 5 years now. I do feel as though it is a kick in the teeth, but yeah, we will survive this mess.

Back last year I decided to start searching out more home crafters (for gifts mostly) and supporting more small business owners in my area, rather than the big box stores.

That said, I DO redeem coupons at the big box stores and drug stores in my area because I usually get the items for free after coupon and this helps with our preps.

Thanks for your support everyone! I do appreciate it! :)

Found out today that we no longer get the 1 week paid vacation either. LOL

Actually, this does not bother me that much even though it probably should. I confess to everyone here..I am a work-a-holic.. There, I feel much better now. :D

    that sucks.

And then they wonder why there is no worker loyalty, why people slack.

there are studies that suggest pay cuts are much worse for productivity than layoffs.

That is bad, we were talking in my office today about; "would we take a cut if it meant some us would not loose our job?".
We see strange people in and out of meetings and quite conversations in my office these days as well.

    started a topic Grrrr!

    Grrrr!

Ok, I need to rant here a little bit guys!

The good news is that I still have a job (I keep repeating to myself)

The bad news is that I am having to take a 25% pay reduction PLUS take on the extra work of those who no longer have a job. I still have a job, though.

So, ok, that is my rant.

For those who do not know, I am in the healthcare/insurance industry. I am also fortunate that I am able to work from home the majority of time. I will focus on the positive. :)
Working...
